solanke has seven goals in the league. Its really not good enough.
He's only played 20, including sub appearances. Pro-rata, that becomes a respectable 13 goals in a first season at a new club. Don't think Dom is an issue. Like any striker, fitness and form go hand in hand.

Solanke has surprised me.

But I do think to have 60m on him was overpaying.

Especially when there are others about who look or are much more dangerous in front of goal.
Who? We bought him because he scored 19 last season.

This side was taken to extra time against Tamworth, and just about got through in the league cup against Coventry.

It's been a shitshow of a season and if I were Levy I'd a worry how bad it could be next season.

Relegation form doesn't stop just because the season does.

Anyone truly think that Ange will have this squad playing any better next season?

I just don't see it, more importantly does Levy?

We are back at the familiar place of knowing that the moment we play a competent premier league team, we are likely to lose.
We had spells like this under Jose and conte.

Totally disagree about Conte. Yes we were utter shite and turgid but we were still grinding out wins, enough to get in to 4th place when he got sacked.

we don’t even need to be playing a semi decent team under Ange to get beaten. 20 defeats in a season is as bad as one could imagine and you can probably add another 5 or 6 to that stat by the time the season ends.

It really is incredible that we have been beaten that many times and he still has a job, can’t get my head around it

We were at the end of the road with Jose and Conte for different reasons and Nuno, those 3 were all not a good fit, toxic and too defensive, Ange is defensively awful and getting exposed so often, we score some under him but he’s doing far worse than any of those 3 were, although they did all have peak Kane & Son.

Jose - toxic and too defensive
Nuno - bad fit
Conte - toxic, not committed and too defensive
Ange - well out of his depth, awful defensively, questionable player recruitment but still in with a lifeline in the EL.

Levy ultimately to blame for all of this mess since sacking Poch (which btw I believe was the right decision at the time but the manager hires, DofF’s squad decisions etc etc have been appalling).

I think it’s clearer and clearer that Poch worked miracles under basically an impossible to succeed under ownership model, I’d love him back.

Odd he did not bring on VDV instead
It's just baffling to me. VDV must be fit to play, so why not just bring him on to see it through at the back. With Micky there I would highly doubt we self-implode as we did with Gray put back to CB

Also thought Gray was doing pretty well screening the defence and better than Bentacur did

If memory serves me correctly, whilst we were absolutely in 4th place when Conte got the boot, the form and performances had fallen off a cliff, and again were in a moment where it was hard to see where the next win might come from.

The bizarre goals we concede are no longer amusing. Hapless defending all over the place. The amount of time Willian had to let the ball drop, take a touch or two to line up a shot, and then shoot is extraordinary at this level. What Odobert was trying to do when surrounded by 3 opponents and lamely gives it away in the lead up to their 1st was ridiculous. As was the hapless non-attempts after that to intervene. And the less said the better about Davies being outmuscled by Sessegnon, of all people, for their 2nd.

Stupid mistakes again. Bah. Was hopefully for a nice 3-points on my birthday. Oh well. Maybe next year.
