I've seen.... hmmmmm who should I pick out here?.... Ekotto do this on more than one occasion. Does that mean we get rid of him too? Every footballer switches off at times, to pick out one moment is a bit daft.

I'm gonna give Rose till the end of the season at the earliest before writing him off, he is still learning the trade at LB and bad games happen. And especially after a run of by all accounts impressive form, he was probably due a stinker at some point in the near future.

His sub standard performances for Team GB and for us last season show it not to be a one-off. He is learning and will no doubt get better but good enough to play for Man U, Chelsea or Man City or good enough for a mid table team?

I really disagree with this.

Surely its harder to play in a weaker team, with inferior players where you are largely dominated in games, than it is in a Spurs team where we tend to have the majority of the possession and place a greater emphasis on attacking?

Which teams defenders do you think had the easier game when Chelsea played Barcelona at the Nou Camp? I would guess not Chelsea's.

What happened last season is irrelevant now. This season he's managed to get a run of games going at LB and has shown that he is more than competent there. Last season Rose had to come into a team out of form and hit the ground running having not a) experienced much premier league football before and b) played regular football over the course of the season. It's just not comparable.

I totally disagree. It is easier to defend with park the bus football, if not why do teams adopt it? You have players around you and a winger can't run at you as 2 of you are marking him.

Last season he showed his mental frailty, which is the vital component that separates winners from losers. You can learn to become mentally tougher, you can learn to re-program the brain so you react in a programmed way to pressure situations.

It will be interesting to watch him for the remainder of the season to see if there is any improvement.

To be lazy once in a game fair enough, to do it twice is not top 4 mental material.
