I'm a bit surprised he didn't want to move on to somewhere where he will get to play more often, even if its in the Championship, there must be plenty of teams who would snap him up, and this might be his last full season.

I think he's probably at the stage in his career where he is looking at how best to make the transition between player and non playing staff. Whether it be as an ambassador or a youth coach there will be opportunities at Spurs that he will be favoured for

IIRC he said last season he's doing his badges and Spurs were helping him. I can see him going on to be a good coach in the future. An ambassador in America will help him get around for possible future coaching and help Spurs profile there. A win win for me.

This man goes in and out between an American accent to a hybrid accent like everyother word. Clean it up, Brad.

At least he doesn't like gratuitously drop the word "like" into his sentences. Clean it up, @yankspurs.
Do you still talk about 'soccer' yankspurs?
(It's funny, but in both Canada and the USA 'football' refers to a game where only one guy on each team actually kicks the ball!!)
