**Mods - Apologies if this thread doesn't meet the standards set for links. I probably jumped the gun**

"Lorient's French youngster Matteo Guendouzi is also being monitored but Manchester City are another club keen on the 18-year-old. Spurs have also watched Lille's Yves Bissouma and Ajax starlet Frenkie de Jong."

Hijacking from the Dembele thread, but I thought it was interesting that the Ajax name that we haven't thrown around is that of Frenkie de Jong.

He has been getting minutes in Ajax first team and seems to be a real talent. In his youth years he seems to have been a more forward, Box - to - Box type of midfielder, but in the appearances I have seen in the 1st team, he has played a bit more of a Winks, pivot role of recent.

Seems to be a real talent. Any ideas about him? The requisite youtube videos below:

Previous Hercules post in ITK thread says that we have first option on Kluivert and interest in others from Holland including another Ajax player...Frenkie de Jong would fit that. Talented player, I question his physicality right away in the PL but definitely has the technical ability to grow and become a very solid player.

Guy is class, I've done the tight camera on a few games that he played for the national U-21s. As previously mentioned he is physically slight but he has the brain and technique whereby the game seems to slow down for him

From the little I have seen of him, he seems to take knocks rather well. Doesn't shy away from contact and has a decent center of gravity.

While de Jong would be a good signing, in my opinion, Donny van de Beek seems like he would be a better fit for a Premier League side. De Jong has always given me doubts because of his size. I could just see him getting tossed about by a midfield enforcer. Winks surprised me though so who knows.

He signed a contract extension with Ajax at the end of last month. Doubt he will be moving clubs this summer - never mind this window

Pretty sure the same was said about Dav San. Wasn't he only a year in or so?

Van de Beek signed a new contract a couple of days ago.
