Well obviously my thread was meant to be a bit sarcastic in view of the Ramos- Kanoute- Spurs triangle. But in all seriousness the fact that Milan and Juventus are apparently interested does tend to show that our deals to sell Kanoute for 4m and buy Bent for 16m were both foolish. Would Milan or Juve want Bent ? And could we sell Bent for 10m even if we wanted to ?

no it wasnt. you are only back tracking because everyone is laughing at you.

you got MERKED SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lay of Darren Bent. The boy hasn't been given a run of games yet. Just because we spent over the odds on Bent doesn't mean his a shit player.

The areas which need improving and I've been saying it for years, is the goal keeper and defence.

You'll probably call for Ramos to be sacked too if there isn't a improvement in his first 7 games.

He does not exactly seem to be brimming with confidence , maybe he's weighed down with the 16m tag ??

When bent was at charlton he was playing week in week out. He needs a good stretch of games to get his feet under the table then we will see the best out of him. Look at what has happened with defoe knowing berba and keano will always be number 1. bent is in that situation and has also got defoe to contend with. After what he did at charlton and the fact he is british i dont think 16 mil is to much, it's a premium the board were prepared to pay. Imho bent will come good and when the fiasco of the last few days has settled down we will come good to (maybe not top 6 but we wont be fighting relegation)

Bent scored 18 Prem goals in his first season at Charlton whilst Kanoute scored 14 in his entire Tottenham career. In fact in 6 years in the Prem Kanoute scored 43 times, whilst in 2 seasons Bent scored 32. Bent will always score in this league, his game is perfect for it. Even if he is playing badly, he'd score 10+ per season, soemthing Kanoute only managed twice (11 both times). We should possibly be interested in Alfonso Alves. He is a cross between both Bent and Kanoute. He has the techncial ability of Kanoute, but also likes to get in behind defenders like Bent. So many players who do well in Holland are not suited to the Prem, but Alves really looks to have the game to succeed here.

fuk me hes not even had a chance yet

Topic starter, you're a spaz.

Listen to this man, Poc. Aside from a poor literary representation of a derogatory term, this mother fucker is spot one!!

Give Bent a chance, he has talent but no confidence. While we're at it, we should go for 10 more strikers and play a 1-10 formation. Hell, we don't have any defenders as it is so this makes perfect sense.

The Juande system.
