Was there spin on the ball that made it suddenly turn when it bounced or something? Can't really see from the angles shown.

Remarkable though.
Yeah, would love to see it from an angle behind Meslier. Thought it went through him at first, but since it actually goes next to him, it could be a much nastier bounce than it looks.

Have to say that Cov v Ltn game was a really entertaining!
Fair play to Cov, two down at HT totally against the run of play was no more than they deserved

Watching Blackpool v Wigan with my Dad. 2-1 to Wigan atm. Belting game, proper football. Both teams having a go, getting stuck in... No VAR moaning and whining, no one rolling around and being a tit.

And Wigan have a player called Asgard.

Ruben selles doing a very good job at reading.
No where near enough kudos for selles and what he has had to endure at this club.

Constant transfer embargo, owners not paying staff or players on several occasions, multiple points deductions, players sold without him being told, his own coaching team made redundant... and lots more to name a few.

Managed to keep them up in L1 last year, unable to sign any players all summer, lost a few due to finances needing to be trimmed, started pre season wirh scholarship players (even my son was on the bench), started a 16 Yr old LB and going on a really positive run to boot.

Youngsters getting thrown in the deep end granted, but opportunities galore and Selles isn't afraid to play them, he's a good bloke, at moat youth games, always encouraging, he's great with my lad too.

Lot of time for what he has done and endured in his short tenure, massive respect as he could easily leave for a better job.

Have to say I’ve been watching a few EFL games over the last few weeks and I’ve enjoyed watching them more than any of the PL games I’ve watched recently.

I tend to watch a lot of non league football live, I prefer watching those games than going to a prem game, just seems more like football how I knew it, I’m right there with you on that, always enjoyable to watch, can’t quite figure out why though!

There's been significant growth in the number of academy-trained players over the last couple of decades, which also means there's been an extended period where a lot of very well-schooled youngsters have been joining the EFL and the better non-league clubs. Thanks to this, the technical standard has risen, giving rise to more entertaining football.
Thinking back to when I used to attend a lot of Division Two and Three matches in my teens, highly skilled and athletic lower league players like Don Rogers (Swindon) or Alan Durban (Shrewsbury) were the exception. Nowadays they would face a lot of technically accomplished competition.

Yeah its a valid point, I think along with the rules side of it being a little more normal, the odd tough challenge, dodgy decisions, the emotions on the pitch aren't as scrutinised gives a feel of proper football, rather than the commercial football we get in the PL.

West Brom #9 just scored a lovely little backheel against Luton. Lad's face was a picture as it went in.

I realise this is not the right thread, but can’t be fussed to see if there is a thread for non-league football

Yank owners with squillions of pounds being outdone by a club owned by ... oh, a Kazakhstani-Georgian billionaire. Still, though.
