Leicester win their appeal against PSR breaches and a points deduction on basis that they had been relegated as of 30th June so the rules don’t apply to them.

That’s terrible… bloody legal jobsworths, not worried about right or wrong, just worried around finding loopholes.

The game is absolutely fucked in your country if a club can successfully argue they are a premier league club in the championship in the same breath as saying the reverse in order to get away with shattering financial regulations. Get out of here. Chelsea & City are getting off scot free without a shadow of a doubt.

Can we join in with everyone and spend loads of money and exploit the loopholes - rather than being the only noble ones actually doing stuff within the rules  :ROFLMAO:

Browsing at work and I see UEFA are threatening England over the Independent Football Regulatory body plans.

Seems like they are concerned with the scope of body and don't like the idea of government interference.

Seems stupid to me as if UEFA weren't so impotent and capable of enforcing their own rules, then there would be no/less need for the IFR in the first place.

I think it’s important that UEFA and FIFA do stick their nose in if necessary.

Reading the reports - there is one particular part that I’d be very concerned about.

“Theodoridis also warned Nandy that clauses in the legislation that oblige the regulator to consider the government's foreign and trade policy objectives when deciding on the suitability of future owners "raise specific concerns".

There are already concerns about this with the likes of Newcastle and City, so you have to consider how much of an issue it could become with direct government involvement.
