If Sherwood plays Adebayor, Soldado, Eriksen, Paulinho and Lamela, and they all find their best form, we'll comfortably finish in the top 4. In fact, if that happens, I'd say we'd push for a place in the top 2.

If Sherwood reverts to players who haven't provided much end product this season as regular starters (Lennon/Townsend/Defoe), then finishing in the top 4 will be much harder.

I expect at least a quarterfinal appearance in Europa. We should beat both Dnipro and Benfica. Napoli and Juventus are the two other top notch teams in the competition, so we'll likely draw one or the other before the finals.

Hopefully: Top 4
Realitic: 5th-6th

Would be nice to win a cup but I guess not this year.

Most important for me is to see an improvement from the new players to fill me with confidence for the next season. And to find a Starting XI who can improve as a team and get to know each other. Soldado, Eriksen and Lamela have to be in it.

Selling your best players and bringing in
even decent players by the shedload
is not a recipe for success.
Thought 5th at best with AVB
with possibility of kicking on next year.
Who knows now.
Hopefully top six but could go pear-shaped
and another new manager for next season and
guess what, another year of transition
as he settles in and we replace stars who move on.
Settle for whatever and some good football from a decent squad
and the possibility of some youngsters getting a chance.

I don't get why expectations should be lower, if Levy thinks this is the right move then if anything expectations should be higher.

Unless, of course, it's not the right move.

In which case it's all down to him.

Top four or bust, Daniel

Stupid as it reads, I think what happens off the pitch in the next few weeks is crucial to our season. TS has to get the players on side, or decide which players he sees as peripheral, and by that he has already said we signed too many mid field players. The situation re Vertonghen particularly worries me, not just his injury but how he feels about the "project" he signed up to. Reading TS Wiki entry he is a leader, has won a PL winners medal as captain, and is forthright in his views (aka the Hoddle incident way back). So interesting times. On the pitch, if the players put in a shift as they did at Saints then we should win our next 2 at WHL and enter the New Year up with the front runners, not one of which has made the break for home. So, what I think is that this is all going to be down to man management. Good signs with Egobayor lets hope that continues. If TS is prepared to introduce youngsters then Veljkovic must be in his mind given the back 4 injuries/form. Will Tom Carroll be recalled? I should add that I think AVB going was not in our best interests at this time. But as a fan for over 50 years then I just get behind the new guy. Good luck Tim you are going to need it!

What I hope: 1st
What I think: 8th
What I expect: 4th

EDIT: Expectations out of league:

What I hope: Win FA and Europa
What I think: Knocked out vs Arsenal and Dnipro
What I expect: Knocked out vs Arsenal and Dnipro

I cant see Sherwood putting Europa as high as AVB. Its probably the bottom of his list. We're going to get smashed by Arsenal in Sherwood insists on keeping the 442 as the formation.

None

Come on Tim, come on Spurs, let's try to win every game.

Oh, and PL > FAC> Europa

Europa is worth more money and is more prestigious to foreign players/sponsors than the FA cup. I know our history in the FA cup and would love to win it, but think the Europa would be better especially as we are trying to get naming rights for the new stadium.

5th with some distance up to 4th, gelled squad, positive football and players finding their stride late in the season setting us up nicely for next season is my guess.

Whether he prioritises it or not we have such a big and strong squad that it would be hard to play a very weak team. Also if we reach the quarters or semis how could you not take it seriously?
In terms of the league I reckon that if we can take 7 pts from the next 3 games we are back in with a good shout of 4th. I think Pool are going to get destroyed by man city so the gap to them could be down to 3 pts.
It's all to play for.

I think Liverpool is done. THere not getting top 4. They cant even make a fully healthy squad from their first team right now and Suarez will be a gallactico before February.

Expect one cup and 4th/5th..

No reason why we can't beat arsenal if we are up for it on the day itself, and our first Xi players shd b back by then.. Think FA cup could be a good cup to start winning

Think Everton will fizzle out.. Honestly think united will finish 6th

Leaving us fools n chavs fighting for 3rd 4th 5th

Injuries suspensions and 6 pointers will determine final shuffle..

How do you make a squad from the first team?! Presumably you mean the other way around. Anyway, Suarez has just signed a new contract (last week?).

Didnt stop Gareth from bolting to Madrid and it wont stop Suarez. He wants to leave and was so desperate to leave last window. This window, Madrid need a striker. Suarez wants CL football and was crying when they wouldnt let him move to Arsenal. If Madrid goes in for him, its Adios Liverpool and Hola Madrid.

Being a Spurs fan, I really don't know what to expect these days. I think I'm old enough now, not to have any high expectations. Despite the fact that losing Bale this season made me less optimistic, I had put some of my hope in our new players. I really believed, that even though I knew that not all of them will be a success for us, I saw us as a much better equipped squad, with better options overall.

That said, I think that we may still end up in the top 4. However, we must not forget that the top 8 teams in the league this season (including us of course) are doing very well and none of them are dropping many points. That makes any prediction literally impossible. I am including Man.U in there, they are the only exception to the rule, as the team who are not doing as well as the normally do. Despite that, I am absolutely not counting them out of a top 4 finish.

Needless to say, the race is very, very tough. I will of course live in hope that, come the end of the season, we will be in the elite 4 of the Premiership. But I will not be drawn into any expectations. Our negative goal difference will not help our cause, of course. Having Tim in place of AVB at the helm, will not have any effect on our results in real terms, but he will certainly make us a better team to watch out for attractive and attacking football.

I have supported Spurs long enough to know not to expect anything. I live from game to game, support them as best as anyone could support any team and hope for a win. One thing is for sure, if we can't get top 4, I'd rather we also miss out on Europa. As much as I want us to do well, I really think that this Competition is not helping matters and what matters in football nowadays is making it to the Champions League.
