Reports from Spain claim that the clause is worth in the region of £21-25m (€25-30m, $27-33m), so Betis would have to accept this amount if Tottenham opt to take up their option. Furthermore, the clause is activated next summer but cannot go beyond September 2025, by which time it becomes redundant. (from Teamtalk)

This seems like a guaranteed transfer postponed to next summer. It would seem like really bad business to negotiate a buy clause for a player with considerable loss of value from the GLC transfer and not exercise it

Yes, seems like we didn't have time to get it over the line before the deadline so struck this deal so its a guaranteed in the summer of 25.
