Couldn't find a thread on here for the Europa League.

So... when's the draw made for the qualifying round that we come into?

I just did a quick google. The draw is made this Friday.

I see a massive problem with the dates of the fixtures.

18th August and 25th August.

Don't we play Man Utd on the Monday 22nd August?

I don't think anyone cares at the minute. We just want a new striker first.

I haven't really been bothered since we qualified for the Europa League, but I woke up today wondering when it was. Fuck knows why!

Think I'm just desperate for some football now, I'm bored without it!

I wasn't really bothered about it beforehand but now I think we should make it our priority. We have a minimal shot at finishing in the top 4 and with the lack of ambition shown by the board/management they're seemingly fine with accepting that too. So why not go all out to win our first major trophy in a while and have something to remember this team by - before it's inevitably broken up.

Agreed mate! Seeing us play is the reason we're here. I was ambivalent about the Europa League, but fuck it. We're in it. Let's go out there and give it a go! Don't care if it's seen as opportunity to give players like Harry Kane a game, I'd like that too.

We should go all out and do the treble (Euorpa, League Cup & FA Cup) it would be a season to remember!

Paddy power have actually made us the favourites to win it at 11/1. Seville and Athletico Madrid at 12/1, PSG 14/1 and Roma 16/1. Fulham at 40/1 , Stoke at 66/1 and Birmingham ( forgot they was in it ! ) at 150/1.

I'm always interested in who we might get and might go and see a game........but, at risk of repeating comments made dozens of times this summer - we only lost the CL place by a few points so there is still everything to play for in the league this time round.

Therefore in the Europa we should play the 'keds' and remaining fringe players(obviously still need to get rid of half a dozen), see how far we get and save the first 11 for the league.

Play a mixture of kids and fringe players in this competition until the knockout stages then start phasing in the cream of the squad.

This is one of three competitions our current squad can win so we should give it a fair shot.

at the moment I'm not sure whether I'm that bothered about the europa league.

still think we should focus on the PL and use all cups for fringe players.

but having read other posts it is about winning things. A cup double would be great. 4th and two trophies should be minimum target.

Nice to see aresenal couldnt win their own trophy on thier own ground. hope that continues through to 2012
