Johnson is getting all the talk for the goal, but that was a really good ball in by Sarr. Made it so hard for United to deal with it. What a moment, a couple of hours on Wednesday and what a week. Haven't stopped grinning.

Just rewatched the match! Honestly enjoyed it more than I expected.

Firstly, the sheer intensity we played that won us the game. From the first to final whistle. Is what won us the match. Man utd simply couldn't deal with it.

First thing to note. The first half we were trying to play. Obviously, without AMs our strategy was very much to play much more direct. To try and exploit the spaces in the back three, and we caused them all kind of problems. We played with a lot of intensity but a fairly even half that I think we edged. But we have Daillo too much space, and basically their whole threat consisted of him and crosses.

The second half. When watching I assumed it was just defending well but desperately for the whole 52 minutes.

But I remember when watching live I was surprised by how quickly the clock was ticking down and that's because for most of that half it wasn't backs to the wall. It was, well, a almost complete nullification of man utd.

Up until about the 70th minute we were hassling and harring them. The shift our players put in was exceptional.

Man utd couldn't find rythme at all and were struggling to really get any grip on the game at all. Relying on crosses, with half chance headers and shots from distance that were all, closed down and, blocked.

VdV clearance was phenomenal after a cheap defensive mix up that you have to blame Vicario for. But that was really it.

Most of the time Utd struggled to enter the final third and particularly those first 20 minutes just flew by. Everything was broken up, pressing was phenomenal and richy and Udogie both being fantastic outlets releasing pressure when needed.

Things changed a lot when Garnacho and Kirkzee entered the game. This gave united about 5-10 minutes of exerted controlled pressure. And while they didn't really threaten too much, it did feel united were begining to get a feel that there was real pressure and spaces were opening up.

That's when Danso (who was fantastic) came on. Moving to a back 5 completely nullified what Man utd were doing. We moved deeper, intentionally, but. Again. Blocks, tackles, blocks. Crosses into the box dealt with fantastically. Near the end they had a few half chances, but nothing too scary.

In the second half, while not shots, Danso (missing the ball by half an inch) and Solanke (poor control) on another day could have scored.

But my main overriding feeling is: the intensity and fight. It wasn't desperate it was sheer determination. Every 50/50 every ball to be won was fought for. Our press was often literal sprints onto the opposition and the constant hassling and harrying from all the players was an incredible amount of work. With everyone working for each other and in tandem and a real belief that we would see the game out. If we could defend moment like we did today in the league, we would not have lost so many games.

While a better calmer team may have managed to work it out. Man utd couldn't and were unable to deal with it. When they did find solutions, we quickly responded with tactical tweeks.

Not a classic, but an awful lot of credit to the lads. Very proud of how we played.

Think he'd won the ball back to start the move, too – been up and down all season, but he was excellent on the night.

I did the same yesterday and I can agree. Discovery+ have 5+ hours of coverage available for free, all the build-up, the match and the aftermath and I watched it all. There was lots I had missed because I couldn't really hear what was being said in the pub. Glorious stuff.

Thinking back now, the only time I was really worried (apart from the obvious) was when Bruno got a free header because Romero and VDV had stepped up, Danso coming on was the perfect sub for this.

The more I think about it, the more I think Amorim should walk for that second half performance. It was clear as day that doubling up on the spurs full backs and getting crosses in was the way forward. Only when Garnacho came on (70 minutes in) did they even attempt this, on the right with Diallo he still didn't get much support. Most of their attacks came one on one as well.

They seemed more focused on dominating possession than actually breaking us down. I think that Solanke miscontrol and break from Udogie scared Amorim into indecision.

What stifled us a bit, was having none of Bergval/Kulu/Maddison available, so we couldn't counter them. If we had someone who could orchestrate those transitions we would have won comfortably imo.

Great overall performance in both halves for different reasons. I have no idea what United were trying to achieve in that second half.

One of Uniteds issues for years has been when Shaw plays next to Maguire, normally this is because Maguire gets dragged over and it leaves spaces. Both are indisciplined positionally..... But Shaw as a CB? Not for me.

But my overriding thought about United is why play wing backs if they're not going to support attacks or even the defence? What are they offering?

More than anything else we won it through focus, hard work and being disciplined. The exact reason why many pundits thought United would win, that's satisfying.

It just feels SO good to be a winner, all those years of near misses and tag lines, to finally shove it back down people's throats
