We only managing half the lap of honour sums up the season. Families all came out whilst players were by West stand so the team never made it the rest of the way. Brennan’s minder was on duty again though with Richy!

Very odd round of honour. Felt just a tad let down on what should’ve have been a party.

Why all the families were allowed to flood the pitch so we couldn’t hardly see the players to celebrate with the cup. They just seemed to be more interested in family pics and selfies than showing the fans that beautiful trophy. Maybe I’m alone on this.

Only Madders, Richy and Sarr bothered to come over to the south West and west stands to applaud the fans. The others just seems to gorget. Gave up waiting.

Won’t let that bother me. Still buzzing.

Just said same, lots of complaining around us (south west corner) as it never made it that far.

Hoped we'd play the kids for the final day. Disappointed not to see Moore, Ajayi, Olusesi in the starting XI and would have hoped that Scarlett and Lankshear got minutes too. Not like the result justified not giving them a runout - I'd blame hangovers amongst the first teamers but it's not like this lot have played any better against top half PL opposition at all in the last 6 months.

Same is true for all of the final few months of the season to be honest - if we'd had the results we'd had but were playing the kids to rest players for EL whilst blooding them for next season and seeing if they are good enough then I might be more sympathetic, but as it is it feels like the league season was a complete write-off and waste.

It’s commitment from Ange to prioritise the Europa over the league even after we’ve won it.

Its a risk either way, and nearly 100% likely that the next manager will get sacked at some point - they all do...

My gut says we will make a move.

But, my brain says it's not clear cut either way. There are strong arguments to keep Ange, and there are strong arguments to bring in a new manager. So, I kind of discount anyone who think its an obvious decision at this point one way or the other.
Are there any obvious candidates who we can persuade to come here. If Ange goes we’re back to recycling managers every 3 years or so. As unlike Chelsea during their Russian era we don’t hire top managers and sign top players to ensure success I fail to see how changing mangers, who you always fail to fully back, every few years is a recipe for success. This is not necessarily me saying Ange in as I think he has made it difficult for himself but someday we’ve got to appoint someone, fully back them and stick with them. I’m not holding my breath though.

Can't be too careful. I'm still expecting UEFA to announce that our pitch was 7cm too short in the semi-final and we've been disqualified as a result.

Throw in the "S" word and it would be perfect.

I don’t think we’re a ‘million miles’ off at all.
It’s only 12 months since we finished 5th. We have a good squad and with some clever, suitable signings and the right playing structure, we could challenge the likes of Villa, Newcastle & Chelsea.
We just lost 22 of 38 league games we are as far away as my 1st nappy

First time back on this site in a long time. Used to always talk about the culture at the club and needing to win a trophy to change the mindset. The Europa success should change a lot of the perception around Tottenham Hotspur.

The manager will be on borrowed time and if not, some players will be. It is one or the other.

I understand where the Ange in and Ange out fans are coming from, but we need to plan now. Who takes over? Who comes in if he does not start well? Which players have to be moved on?

If there is no sentiment used in keeping the manager then there should be no sentiment in keeping players.

We have had many sliding doors moments down the years. Do we take advantage of this one? Hope so.

Same old story in the league, makes me laugh seeing people excuse it due to hangovers what about Palace then? Did they bend over the next two games? Ange and his league sacrifice 🤣 what happened for the last half of last season then? He has not got a clue how to manage this team in the Prem. 22 defeats christ almighty that is a disgrace :-(.

We were terrible today. We've been terrible most of the season. We absolutely did not prepare for this game in a usual way, a professional way, or in the most effective way. All of those things can be true at once.

Explaining today's defeat does not mean anybody is trying to justify the previous defeats as some sort of Mega Time-Bending DeLorean Hangover, one so severe that its effects travel back in time and cause the other 21 defeats.

I know I’ll be in the minority but I don’t think it’s acceptable for professional athletes to approach a fixture in the way they have. They have a summer now to celebrate and let their hair down.

Totally get the euphoria of winning a trophy but it all supports that weak minded mentality tbh. Why would you not do everything you possibly can, including preparing right, to win every game.

Again totally get I’ll be the minority but I think about the people who have spent their hard earned cash and travelled hours to be served that up.
That's a fair point of view. But that is on the club. Again, you don't sanction a parade and literally serve players bottles of beer during that parade if you care about today. It's not really on the players when it's club sanctioned. I personally have no issue with it mind, but it is valid. It's unproffesional for sure. My take is simply, because it has been so long since we have won anything, this time is a little bit of an exception.

Well all my mates who support other teams have surfaced to take the piss again after today’s result and the stats it brought about.
And they will keep on doing it if they see it gets under your skin. There are many ways to respond to this to shut them up!

I agree, needs a manager who shows awareness of his opposition

If Ange is gone which I expect he is it will be nice to be able to get a match thread where people don’t get scared to come in and join the conversation. No problems with anyone wanting Ange out but there really is no need to get so personal, to be unacceptably homophobic or to go on and on gleefully hateful of a manager. The enjoyment of winning the EL has pretty much gone for me after being here today. Which is a pity coz might be another 20 years before it happens again.
That won't happen. It has always been this way, for every manager at some point.

Since the CL final it has been even harder as some peoples expectations are well off the reality.

Exactly are you see. Some people here are pouring into negativity only days after having seen their club win a trophy.

A lot of them will always find a way to make things negative, often it's not really about the football at all, and that wont change.

You see it in other forums of other clubs too. Often the more successful the club becomes the more miserable people can get.

It is important to treasure and enjoy cup finals and even individual wins. But if you are just chasing a quick fix of dopamine nothing lingers and nothing gets savoured.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?
