Well it's very well known that ENIC/Tottenham owns (and keep buying) land and properties in North London specially near the stadium.

Well I am not sure of the strategy itself because I dunno if Daniel Levy is trying to do a Kroenke which means building a multi-entertainment complex that revolves around the Hotspurs Stadium or he's trying to do a Joe Lewis with his Tavistock Group and building something like Lake Nona.

Pretty sure there are users with more knowledge that can answer that.
It is indeed. I will do some reading (starting as @spursfan77 suggests) and see whether I can figure out what the plans are before I reply again. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I think a lot of you are completely missing the point when it's coming to the questions of whether Levy "backs" Mourinho or not, or whether he shows "ambition". Whether we can "get out business done early".

The reality of the situation is that ENIC's strategy, based on a 20 odd year period, has been based around the development of the stadium, the eventual paying off of the debt, and coming out the other side with way more financial muscle than most of our rivals. With the extra gate receipts from ticket sales, extra matchday income from the club shop, encouraging fans to eat and drink in the stadium by keeping the Market Place and fancy catering services open before and after the games, finding fancy ways to reduce operating costs like brewing beer in the stadium and having everything cashless, and that's before we even get into things like the NFL games, concerts, rugby, boxing, fancy corporate events or whatever else could have been hosted there, and of course a potential stadium sponsor. When you consider that they reckon we were now making £800k - £1m on food and drink sales per game alone (compared to about £150k a game at Old Trafford) it makes you realise how much money we could have generated from this thing - I reckon an extra £100m a season if you start to break it down.

For years, we have had to be tight on transfers and wages because of the stadium construction. We have missed out on players. We have missed opportunities to kick on. Now that it is open, now should have finally been the time when we could actually use it to our advantage. But instead - we cannot use it. Whilst fans cannot congregate, it generates zero revenue. Instead of an extra £100m a season, all it does is encumber us with a £600m debt that requires paying off with interest.

We need several new players to compete at the top end of the division again, that is clear. But if you think that it's a simple as Levy going "well let's show some ambition and pay a bit over the top to get things done" you're very badly mistaken. If you thought we were tight before then I've got bad news for you because things are going to be even worse now. Because at least until the stadium re-opens for business, all of the signs point towards us being absolutely skint. The fact that we're also not in the Champions League for the first time in five years will make the situation even worse.

I hope someone knows something I don't, or we've figured out a plan here. Because short of using public money from the Bank of England loan, I don't see how we're going to pay for the upgrades our squad badly needs, regardless of who is in charge.

At least someone has a firm grip on reality around here.

Not really. Chelsea and Man city will use the virus to double down on the advantage of having free money on tap. Man Utd are absolutely minted no matter what. Liverpool's financials are very healthy after a period of sustained success and they've always backed Klopp with what he's wanted. So it's really just us and the scum who are fucked.

Have they? He wanted Werner but they wouldn’t pay the money for him. He now wants Thiago but they are baulking at paying the £30m for him. Do you think he wanted no players in last summer too?

I don't think this place is for you then fella

Can I suggest somewhere you'll fit in perfectly with your mentality and mindstate: https://theboyhotspur.com/category/latest-blog/

Thanks me later ;)

@[email protected] aka the ratings ninja - you'd love this place as well.
Nothing wrong with my mentality mate and your passive aggressive comments carry no weight, perhaps the mentality question you should pose to your friend at the club.
Have a lovely evening my little friend and all the best for the season ahead.

Very quiet thread tonight, considering it seems like we are getting our business started nice and early. And it looks like £15m for PEH and £12m for KWP. Two more reasons to celebrate. But very quiet. ?

Probably because where transfers should be discussed, they are being discussed :D

Two summer transfer windows with no players in, do you think that’s a good thing? We did one and we know where they got us. It might be optimistic thinking but I’m not sure their players will be able to keep up their levels for a third season playing every game. Let’s see.
