This made me chuckle. Its just getting harder and harder to have much of a connection with the club currently. Asshole manager, asshole owners. Genuinely haven't missed them playing at all. Sure the way they were playing doesn't hurt that at all but none the less for the first time in probably 7 years I don't have the urge to watch them play every weekend.
What do they win?Liverpool have reversed the decision.
What do they win?
Not the nobel peace prize then? Amateurs. The spirit of shankly.

When Liverpool becomes it's own nation it'll be part of the foundations, no fear. Can’t wait for the banner in the kop
All 550 non-playing staff at Tottenham are taking a 20% pay cut, initially for two months.
Chairman Daniel Levy, who earned £7m last year, is one of those to give up a fifth of their earnings and has called on Premier League players to “do their bit for the football eco-system".

Liverpool shows impact of fans pushing against decisions they see as damaging to their club, rather than defending owners. Liverpool reversed plans to raise ticket prices at Anfield in 2016 and now the club has abandoned plans to use the government furlough scheme for staff
Which makes this all the worse now Liverpool have seen sense and reversed their decisionAlthough 2 wrongs shouldn’t make a right. I weirdly feel better Liverpool have now done that.

If you run a hashtag football clubs always take notice. Worked for Liverpool ... Their fans eh?
Good on Liverpool FC. That wheeze was never going to wash in such a politically left-leaning city.Which makes this all the worse now Liverpool have seen sense and reversed their decision
People like to be upset over everything these days. Thing is it's one set of rules for one, but a completely different set for others. You're better off laughing at it all, that or walk away from it.I’m still struggling to be bothered about the furloughing by us for 2 months. It’s probably such a small figure in terms of government expenditure. They probably waste the same amount of money on red tape in a week.
Furlough, furloughGood on Liverpool FC. That wheeze was never going to wash in such a politically left-leaning city.
Nah. It's the principle behind it. I'm really, really fucked off with them for doing this. Stinks of self interest and opportunism. There is no way the government should give us a penny towards paying wages we are quite capable of meeting. I would hope that Liverpool's UTurn would shame us into reversing this decision, but think the owners are probably beyond shame. Disappointed in many of our fans not batting an eyelid about this tbh.I’m still struggling to be bothered about the furloughing by us for 2 months.
