we employ a scouting system, Spurs are the 8th richest club in the world, Kane gets injured every season.
The PSG forward , who isn’t playing that’s plays for urgruay.

How did Spurs become the 8th richest club in the world? What position were they in when ENIC took over I wonder?

I wonder how many other teams have jumped upmas many places in that time as we have. Care to take a look seeing as you're insistent on ripping the owners to shreds Tottenham fan?

How much of their own money have FSG put towards Liverpool mate?
Or how much money does any entrepreneur put in their business?

Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital approx 150 years ago.
"Religion is the opium of the people....." (Football is close to that)
I posted earlier in this thread, about reaching our 35 million fan base.
Of course success on the pitch is still very important if not vital.

The Covid-19 virus bizarrely may have knock on effect of televising even more games. This could well hasten the revenue growth for clubs like ours, as we continue to reach more of those fans , and grow that Fanbase. The more TV the faster the audience growth, for the select few.

I think it is a huge shame that the tide has gone out, on the local fans being real major stakeholders in the club. There is no doubt that for over 100 years they were, in any club.

However, now the big clubs really are becoming more like corporate powerhouses where the local fans are more irrelevant.

Sadly, this does not just relate to us, the same is true for every big club. In fact look at Man U, RM or Barca, when you have a fanbase of 100s of millions of people, then the 60k that go every other week are far less relevant than they used to be. In fact yes they are still a revenue stream, but they are more like window dressing, for the TV audience.

It is horrible but unfortunately true, football is getting packaged up like any other commercial product, and sold around the world.

Amongst the benefits of that are that we have everything in place to dine at the top table for years to come in an exploding commercial market place, as the revenues keep growing

The drawbacks are that individual fans become less and less important over time and the soul and fun go out of being a supporter, along with any power.
The sad thing is the myth that we all buy into, is that we are the stakeholders of the club. If I'm really being honest I'm not sure that's true. Unfortunately i think we have become consumers of a product.
It suits the clubs for us to think we are integral to the process. The reality is very different.

When ENIC bought the club from Sugar (who saved the club financially and rescued it from the filthy sweaty hands of that dead gooner crook Robert Maxwell...) we were a club regularly fighting relegation and became desperately close to being wound up after suffering the ravages of the previous ownership of Irving Scholar.

At the time, we craved for mid-table mediocrity as a clear sign of some sort of stability at the very least. Some people have short memories.

From there to now, some 20 years later, we are the eighth richest club on earth, with arguably, the world's greatest £1 billion stadium / multi-sports venue, with one of the world's greatest training facilities, and with one of the world's greatest ever football managers at the helm.

We hate Chelsea partly because they are owned by a Russian oligarch, who has been sustaining the club by (allegedly) laundering dirty money through it, and has been effectively thrown out of the country and refused British citizenship. Of course, Chelsea fans don't give a shit about that any more than the City fans do about where their club's money comes from or how it's being made, but we hate them for it. So what is that, jealousy? City have been banned from the Champions League for two seasons because of their financial irregularities, so their 'crimes' have been met with strong sanctions which could effectively derail their entire existence as a multi-billion pound footballing enterprise.

The Spurs fans who are screaming for ENIC to sell up and sod off should really think about what might happen if they ever do.

Between us, Chelsea and City, all I know is, I know which I'd rather have in my DNA and I'm happy with who and what we are as a club. It's not perfect, but we are where we are because of our own efforts, through the hard work of ENIC and Daniel Levy over the last 20 years and not just some crook coming in and dumping a load of dirty money on us.

Think 8th richest club in the world is a bit misleading, we have apparently the 8th highest income in world football not quite the same as being the richest , what counts is how much money in the bank after all debts/outlay etc are paid .

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen shillings and sixpence, result happiness.
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds and sixpence, result misery."

I just love (hate) how for years they’ve plastered The Game is about Glory all over the Stadium when the reality is that is last on their list of priorities

Such a shame that the proper supporters are so emotionally blackmailed by the game that they have such trouble seeing it until it keeps smashing them in the face time after time. Even then they don’t want to believe it

I meant Europa league

but I was actually only joking about the irony of the marketing, we've hardly risen since we started using the slogan
FC Carrierbag eh?

I'd fire the bloke who came up with the the slogan.

The slogan is fine, it's just unfortunate that we haven't lived up to expectations or built on the position we were in at the time

All clubs have positive slogans, regardless of their position

Maybe we should change ours to 'The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow'

It's quite remarkable that we are in the top 10 richest clubs, when we have not won our domestic league for nearly 60 years..

Think we have been top 15 for a long time without ever winning or troubling anyone so that is not bad, imagine if we was ever a top club interesting to see where they would sit.
