Europa league could influence this 5 days after the Rangers tie, hopefully by then we have sealed qualification so we can rest players, whilst Man utd away to Viktoria Plzen might not have such a luxury after a poor start in the comp, need them to slip against PAOK or Bodo Glimt
Utd also have the Manchester derby on the 15th (we play Southampton) so our cup tie will be their 3rd straight away game and come off the back of one of their biggest games of the season.

Be interesting to see how the club handle tickets for the United game , for the City match after ST's were given choice of purchasing their regular it went on sale to members who could buy up to four tickets for themselves and non-members, will they do the same for United, however, United are sure to take the full allocation of 6,000 which City didn't do.
Certainly improved the atmoshpere at the match last night not having all the regular moaners there.

It was on Feb 28th in 1976. - it was my (1st) wedding day/night reception which was held in the the Alexandra Hotel on Seven Sisters Rd, Finsbury park and the hotel was full of Man City and Newcastle fans after the LC final at Wembley !

Might be a scheduling issue for the QF.

We shouldn't be playing on the Tuesday because we're playing the previous Sunday. But Crystal Palace are also playing on that Sunday before their QF at Arsenal.

Us and Arsenal can't usually play at home on the same night, police would probably veto it. So neither of us should be playing on Tuesday, and only one of us can play on Wednesday.

Moving Arsenal's tie to the Thursday would mean having the move their PL game the following weekend to Sunday, but that's difficult as it's been selected for TV.

So one solution might be playing our game on the Thursday, and then moving the Man Utd vs Bournemouth PL game afterwards from the Saturday to Sunday (we're already Sunday that weekend). It's not on TV, although you'd still get some fan complaints.

The other option is that someone does have to play Sunday-Tuesday, as Man City did vs Watford last round.

Apparently the Emirates is already booked for Arsenal Women's Champions League tie on the Weds (has to be a CL level stadium) so it looks like they'll have to play Sun-Tues (y)

Edit: Their PL game against Everton is showing as 14 Dec whereas my colleague said it was the Sunday. Not sure if moved

Nothing to stop them moving a Sunday TV match to a 8pm Saturday KO, think it has happened before. I see our game against Southampton on Sunday 15th Dec is on TNT with a 19:00 KO , pretty sure TV games are moveable.

When TV games are liable to be moved again based on other results, they advertised it at the time of announcement. It's not completely impossible, but would need agreement with TV companies as well as the clubs. It's likely to be especially complicated here because the fixtures in question is Brighton vs Palace - there's often trouble, it would have to be negotiated with the police, transport companies are involved too, and I expect they'd absolutely veto a Saturday night kickoff with everyone on the piss all day.

Would you not say it works for Bournemouth more than us?

Surely United prioritise the Cup more...
Depends on what happens the next few weeks. But right now United, despite their start, are 6 points off the Champions League spots with an exciting new manager coming in. They won't have given up on their league season just yet.
