Right this may be controversial but I don't give a flying fuck about our national football team.

My financial and emotional involvement are to THFC not England

I believe that England are a chance for fans of clubs like Crewe and Hereford etc to see some better football but they do not compare to what we currently see week in week out.

I don't like having to support Wallcott, Terry, Gerard and the like.

I hope we keep Redknapp as we are a better team.

I am patriotic but THFC will always be first for me.

I await to be shot down:oops:

I think Pardew should be the next England manager anyway so he can fuck Terry's wife and then let Anton have a go!

Clearly not controversial as probably the vast majority of supporters are more interested in their club than England, a controversial view would be the other way around.

I went to the last two world cups and the last Euros that England were involved in. God willing, and money permitting, I will go to this Euros.

I'm also a long term season ticket holder at Spurs.

I do care. You ask me what I have enjoyed the most, Euro trips with Spurs or overseas trips with England and I don't know the answer.

I love them both, for very different reasons.

Having said all that my preference would be for Arry to stay at Spurs. Until Wigan I never sang (sung?) his name, but at that game I felt it right that if he went down he deserved to know that I had appreciated what he did for Tottenham.

I want both England and Spurs to do well. I dunno what the answer is, but I feel I can't be happy on both counts.

The national team used to be a big deal when I was a kid. I really cared about it, sung the songs, got my mates over for games. Loved it.

Now it just feels different. Maybe it's because we are a bigger club and we're able to compete in the really important competitions, or maybe it's just because I can watch high quality football in the Premier League on a weekly basis, and therefore don't really get excited by the odd England game popping up here and there.

However, it is almost certainly to do the fact that I despise the majority of that England squad - Terry, Cole, Wilshere, Rooney etc. most of them are odious scumbags who I spend a lot of time detesting.

I'm supposed to support them just because of some tedious national pride bullshit I'm fed by the media in the lead up to a tournament?

No, it doesn't wash.

The best thing England could do would be to treat the next 2-3 years, including the Euros, as an experiment to bring in 80% young players and grow a new philosophy from the U17s upwards - get them all playing the same style of football and not get so hung up about the pressures of qualification.

Give the job to a young British manager, someone like Rodgers, someone who plays football the way you envisage the team playing - in short, someone who buys into your philosophy. Give them the job and tell them not to feel the pressure of qualification but to focus on building something that can actually fucking last, for a change. Build the English team a future. A team we can be proud of.

This is precisely what Germany did with Klinsmann and Loew. It worked a treat, with young players graduating to fit seamlessly into a system that they had been exposed to since U17 level. Now they've got decent youngsters like Ozil and Khedira coming through who have slotted right in and are World Class. Their vision and philosophy has been the reason for Germany's recent success.

Of course, the FA will not do this, because they are led by the media (and, to a large degree, the money that they can get for qualifying for a major tournament every time one takes place). There are also a load of very stupid England fans who simply won't understand the notion of anything other than immediate (albeit fleeting) success.

No, the FA will give Redknapp the job to get the feelgood factor back for the Euros. However, they and Harry will soon find all of the old problems resurfacing and, in my opinion, Redknapp will regret it. Especially when he is on the verge of something so special with this Tottenham team.

Club, before country. In fact, I don't care about international football.

Couldn't agree more with the lack of interest in the national team. The older I get the less interest I have in the national team. When ever I watch spurs either live or on TV I am a nervous wreck the most part - It really means something to me. When we win I am ecstatic and when we lose I am completely deflated.

However when I watch England play its generally just a 'meh' feeling. I would like them to do well but in all honesty I don't give a monkeys.

The only time i give a shit about England is World Cup Finals/Euro Finals, and even then i always feel a bit wrong in the back of my mind supporting twats like Terry, Cole etc. Hopefully in 10 years time, the team will be full of players like Kyle Walker who arn't complete pricks and i'd support them alot more

Got to agree with this. Just no comparison for me, no contest.

I would like England to do well, of course, but my heart is Tottenham all day long and the interests of this Club always come first in my mind.

England would be my second favourite national team, I do pay some interest to their games but gee they're a hard team to like... Rooney, Cole, Terry et al really do tarnish the aura with their stupidity. The self interest shown by the players is so immense - there is hardly a team player amongst them and they care more for their club team than England. It's no wonder the link/emotional connection has been broken between England and their fans.

Euro 96 and World Cup 98 were both my first England tournaments and I loved them both. 2002 World Cup was the last time I was excited to actually watch England though, since then it has been a complete shambles.

I'd love for us to go to Euro 2012 and stand a chance of winning it but we simply do not have the mentality or the right players. I feel international football has lost its appeal now, for me anyway.
