Two Spurs strikers in the England squad.

No wonder England can't win major tournaments.

as crap as they have been of late for us, if you look at their international scoring records they are both actually quite impressive for country.

from the beeb:

England manager Fabio Capello has sprung a major surprise by including Aston Villa defender Kyle Walker in his squad to face Denmark on Wednesday.

Not a major surprise to me, he has been playing well and England have'nt had a good RB for as long as I care to remember.

Capello has publically admitted that he should have taken Walnut instead of Lennon to the World Cup so my guess is our flying winger has been sent to Coventry for the duration of Capello's tenure.

I'd like to see Defoe start for England as he always seems to get on the scoresheet and it may be the kickstart he is desperate for.

If Kyle Walker gets capped and wants to stay at Villa, his fee will at least double.

Oh, and Dawson recalled as soon as he is match fit again suggests he's a little bit better than some Spurs fans think he is.

I always wonder what would have been for King and Woodgate had they not had their injury problems. They're as good as any CB partnership anywhere when they're fit.

I also like how many English players we have; four called up, Lennon might feel hard done by and Huddlestone, Woodgate and King all injured.

Spurs England (eligible) XI
Cudicini
Walker Woodgate Dawson King
Lennon Huddlestone Jenas Bentley
Crouch Defoe

Subs:
Alnwick
Naughton
O'Hara
Caulker
Rose
Livermore
Townsend

Not a shocking group of players by any means.

And the England CAPTAIN pulls out with a groin injury about 10 minutes after completing the whole game for his club....

Ill always welcome our players playing for England, but my sheer contempt for England after the World Cup showing, coupled with the fact we are deciding to play friendlies against Denmark rather than participate in the Carling Nations, means we could field an all Spurs England 11 and I still wont give a toss!

Anybody watching?

1-0 down . Agger with the goal. Dawson is starting alongside Terry in central defence.

Glen Johnson is creating a chance for the opponent every couple of minutes, as usual...
