How walnutt is in the squad I don't know. No place for Young or Agbonlahor. Even Bentley has been better than Walnutt this season

How the hell did Walcott get in?

No recognised right back there either.

Walcott hasn't done anything to deserve being called up. Even the Arsenal fans are getting fed up with him. Young, Agbonlahor, Bentley and Dawson should get a look in before the World Cup starts.

Don't think Bentley should be anywhere near the England squad.Wright-Phillips has been pants and Walcott has done nothing to deserve a place either... but then Azza is out so

That squad will get nowhere near a WC final.

Walcott's a spastic decision. Hardly played and when he has he's been shit. Every Arsenal fan I know says the same. He's living off that Croatia game more than Geldof's been living off 'Mondays'.

Villa should be very proud tonight.

Out of that squad there is only Hart, Rooney, Milner and maybe Downing and Defoe who you would say are in great form.

i thought Hud might have had a look in - been playing very well recently.
And makes a mockery of Capello's policy of picking players on form, or if they are playing consistently, by picking Terry (been cr@p recently), walcott and wright-phillips.
This squad looks weak - is this really what we are banking on to win the WC?

Surprised Joe Cole isn't in there. I would've had him and Young ahead of Wright-Phillips and Walcott.

Not that i think we'll gain anything from this game anyway.

Walcott? What's he done lately apart from pick his nose? He's done nothing, Young been in far better form and doesn't get in. I thought Capello wouldn't pick players for England purely on who they play for, or reputation, but it turns out, he does. Just like Erikson did when he picked Walcott for the last WC having not seen him play. SWP has been equally as shit lately too, although not having Lennon at his disposal kind of means Capello has to pick the shit Aaron Lennon.

Dawson over Upson on this seasons form... all day long.

Walcott over Young is a disgrace too.

Cole hasn't played much this season, and Capello never fancied him anyway

Warnock, Shawcross, Barry and Carlton Cole since his return have been in excellent form.

Barry has been woeful for pretty much the whole season. Cole has only played a handful of games since his injury. Warnock has been solid though. Havent seen much of Shawcross to be fair.

I'm surprised neither Bent or Zamora have got a look in, especially ahead of Crouch and Heskey.

The squad seems quite weak. Before the last WC, I remember thinking we had 9 or 10 excellent players. Now its just have Rooney and A Cole.

We are especially weak at full back. Wes Brown is the only player who can play at RB.
Who are we missing (who might make the WC squad)? Is it just A Cole, Johnson, Rio and Lennon?

I think Fabio previously said that he wanted his squad to be settled by this friendly match. Who do you think has a chance of getting into Fab's squad without injuries assisting the decision.

I think this is a squad with about 6-8 players that Fabio would NOT currently take to the World Cup but believes that IF they find top form between now and June they're better than what he has. Hence he wants to work closely with them and give them the inspiration to truly stake their claim.

Which is certainly sad news for Hudd and Daws as I also fancied they might be in that category.

The 'Big Man' situation is interesting as he'd only take 2 of Crouch, Heskey & Cole but to have all 3 there is a sound move.

Walcott is ludicrous, though. Even at 'top form' he's never been better than half a dozen other options out there. Embarrassing, really.

this is no where near your wc squad, capello is just trying out things.

even though egypt are acn champions for quite a while now you will still beat them with this squad with relative ease.

i disagree, walcott when on 'top form' is england's most dangerous player. you can't beat pace and he's so small defenders will find it hard to stop him without a foul.

I agree, but why not add Young and Agbonlahor if you're going for pace?
