I'm disappointed when spurs lose and sometimes a result can annoy me for a few hours depending on the game, but it's all soon forgotten.

People that let a football game define their mood for days after should seek professional help, or just be happy that the only thing they have to worry about are the football results

Losing in itself doesn't affect me anymore. It's when you spend a week or more waiting for the next game and then see a total shitshow from players and manager that I can get annoyed for a day or two.

I get much more invested when things are at stake. At this point l feel like our season's over already, so I don't really care that much.

There’s rarely been more at stake than right now. We’ve clawed our way up to this point and we’re in danger of seeing that slip from our grasp.

Every sports team has their good times and bad. It's very cyclical in that regard and you have to expect that if you're going to be a sports fan.

I'm not too worried about our current situation tbh. If I had to guess, I'd say that Poch will get sacked in the next 3 games, one of Mourinho, Allegri or Benitez will be brought in within 3 weeks, results will pick up and we'll end up finishing 5th or might even scrape 4th.

There'll be a period of rebuilding in the transfer window (s) coupled with the fact that players who we previously thought of as useless, will have an upturn in form.

All in all, we'll be up and running again next season and it'll be some other club's turn to have a crisis.

I hate writing off a season. We’ve done it before and it’s just dead time where we accept we aren’t winners. We’re only out of the League Cup, every game is there to be won. Even in times of crisis we achieved a Champions League Final place and created so many great memories along the way. I still go into every game thinking it could be a day to remember.

I actually had trouble sleeping on Saturday night, longing for the old Lane and simpler times.

Now its all NFL, distracted owners and marketing. Bring me back the old shelf, pukka pies and that funny smell you got in the stairwells.

There used to be a football club over there, as a great man once said.

I don't think anyone consciously writes off a season; it's just the way these things play out.

That said, there's no reason why we can't be involved in memorable matches, or win a cup in 19/20, regardless of our league form.

After Jol got sacked, Ramos took us to a cup win, so you never know.

Agree, there's no denying we're in a bad moment but it's still early doors, tomorrow is an important game, if we can scrape that 2nd position and keep within touching distance of top4 then I think the goal should be to get ourselves into a position where come january we've turned the season around and can attack it.

We're talking about emotional investment well if people want to write the season off because it helps them not let football affect your mood then fine but if you're dreading each game feeling negative and then the game ends up angering you further then I question whether it's worth it for you. There's a big difference between feeling disappointed and then outright letting football dictate your emotions.

I’ve started to think of it as my favourite pub being replaced by a coffee shop. Sure, you still go there, hang out, get a drink of sorts. But it’s just not the pub.

Not easy to say ‘this isn’t for me’ when it is as much you as your arms and legs. Don’t know any other life. It’s the reason I worry about saddling my kids with it.

I think a lot of us are struggling with this and also the price of it all and the cost of being loyal to your team. It's difficult because you feel like you're being taken advantage off but at the same time you don't want to be looked at as if you're not spurs through and through and by not paying you're somehow less committed. Personally if people decide that they don't like the way football is going with the business that doesn't mean they love the club any less.

Fair analogy... although more like your favourite pub flattened and being replaced by a huge, obnoxious American mall.

It's shit when we're playing this bad because I'm sure like many others football is somewhat of an escapism for me, I usually look forward to every single game and count down the days. I could always justify the cost of my season ticket because 9 times out of 10 I'd get genuine enjoyment from watching us play and would usually be entertained.

Now I'm not even looking forward to going tomorrow, I've even flirted with the idea of selling my ticket because it's just not an enjoyable place to be at the moment. I don't want to be "that" fan though, rain or shine we should be there to support them even if it means voicing our frustration in the end.

If I had the money I’d be at every game, defeat after defeat. That doesn’t bother me. I missed a lot of Champions Legaue memorable moments because the budget didn’t allow. I went to Cardiff at home instead of Barcelona as I’d promised myself league games only. That was a bit daft if I’d thought about it a bit. It’s not the money, it’s not the the form.

It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

I don't think you should go if you don't think you'll have fun doing it. You - and every single one of us - don't owe the club anything. Wherever you sit in the ground, you're paying a tidy sum to watch Spurs, and if a particular game doesn't hold an appeal for you at a certain time then you shouldn't feel bad about considering selling your ticket, IMO.

unfortunately as the expectation goes up, the bigger the pit of despair when those expectations don't materialise. it's also worse because the closer you get the more you realise how much luck plays a part in the key moments and given we're utterly cursed i don't see this changing anytime soon.

It's like being in an abusive relationship with someone who promised to change, moved into a new house, treated you nicely for s bit but kept screwing around behind your back.

I've reached the point now where the results don't affect me at all anymore.
Now it's just a shrug of the shoulders and on we go with the rest of the weekend.
