Elche move for Santiago

We have reached agreement with Spanish Segunda Division side Elche for the permanent transfer of Yago Santiago.

Having joined us at the start of the 2019/20 season from hometown club Celta Vigo in Spain, Yago initially linked up with our Under-18s before progressing through the ranks to become a regular for our Under-21s.

Always thought he was decent, shame we never saw him in the early rounds of the cups last year….thought he might have got a chance there if draw ps were favourable.

I wonder if we were going to run into work permit issues trying to get him a new contract, was it a case of sell this summer or lose him next for nothing, perhaps?
