Young winger/striker currently on loan to Gremio from Napoli, with the deal ending in January. Hung up two goals on Spain today, albeit a friendly. Would not be opposed to seeing us move for the guy in the winter transfer window if Chadli/Lennon/Siggy doesn't work out at the left winger position (I'm not sure Siggy or Lennon in particular will cut it on that side). Only downside is he's come up playing the right side in a more traditional winger role, but as can be seen with AVB's successful management of Townsend, the scenario can work.

And before some of you go on about Harry making it work for Townsend on the right side, AVB was the first to employ Townsend on the right and he seemingly hit the ground running at QPR in that position once he received adequate game time.

No he wasn't, he had played there in our youth system and on loan. If anything Harry should get most credit because he got the best out of him in that role, however it is simply a position he can play and no single person deserves some kind of special credit.

Vargas never lived up to his early potential, he may still come good though.

Andros' own father said Harry barely gave any man management. Said: go play there.

Vargas looked sharp today. Worth a go if Chadli sucks it up.

That means very little in the context of this discussion. Harry is an extremely average manager but AVB shouldn't be getting the credit for Townsend. As I said, no single person should get credit but if anybody should, it should be Harry as he was the first to consistently give him a run at RW and get good performances from him.

I know it's only Fifa, but I used to love using him on 13's Ultimate Team. Really smooth player to control.

Not seen anything of him in real life yet, myself. I did used to enjoy watching Napoli back when Lavezzi was there, so may have caught a glimpse but not realised.

What happened to the ITK's report of a jaw dropping signing on the last day? Obviously it must have fallen through but who was it going to be?
