So we’re basically working on getting Willian Jose or Piatek and I’ll we’ll sign whoever we feel is the better value deal.

Gards says not happening (not a shock). Few other updates from him that I’m afraid to post in the ITK thread:
  • Definitely one incoming, who will be a striker - we have two targets with deals being worked on at the same time but will only sign one
  • Not Gabriel Barbosa or Cavani
  • Paco Alcacer was offered but JM doesn’t want
  • Not convinced there will be a second incoming (DM or defender)

Shame there might not be a second incoming but it's what I'd guessed would be the case anyway. It's frustrating because a striker and a DM you feel could really unlock a lot of the potential that this squad has.

Wouldn’t that be Cavani? Or Werner?

Well yeah sure, but we clearly aren’t going to be signing players of that caliber for various reasons.

Just saying if we have a choice of 2 players for the same position which are feasible the choice should be who is a better player and a better fit for our team. Better value is not something that’s going to elevate us to achieve things.

Oh I agree.

I was just pointing out the calibre of player that might be available. Best player we are willing to spend on doesn’t necessarily elevate us to achieve things either (last summer being an exception).

We should have a serious crack at this, could also work with us then stepping down our "interest" in Cavani IF Chelsea let OG join us. Reckon we could see this scenario play out tomorrow.

yup, been waiting for this one to resurface. Even if we did a 6 month loan on crazy wages it would be worth it assuming we could get decent game time

I'm holding out hope that we might try for Diego Costa should Cavani complete a move to AM.

Anyone know much about his injury? Had a look on transfermarkt & is says he's out with a groin injury and has missed the last few games.

Would love him but a bit pointless if he's going to be out for a while.
