Jose in his presser commenting on the reporter's question about whether Cavani would be a good fit at Spurs "I have a very good relationship with Mr Nasser (Al-Khelaifi, PSG president) and Mr Leonardo (PSG sporting director) and I want to keep that good relationship. Good relationships are based on respect, so I am not going to speak about a player of PSG."

And then goes on to joke that they should loan us Mbappe

Really can’t see him wanting to come to us. Clearly just wants to play and won’t when Kane’s fit

I don't want to accuse you Justin because I'm not sure if this is you personally - but why do fans still look at what other clubs are doing? We're in fucking crisis and need to change things ASAP, forget everyone else

A crisis? Fucking fuckety fuck - our fanbase are becoming worse than the Gooners.

How self-entitled are you? A crisis? Get a grip!

If you want know what a crisis is, go and speak to some real football fans. Here is a list of some clubs who understand what a crisis is:

Leeds
Sheffield Wednesday
Nottingham Forest
Norwich
Middlesbrough
Blackburn
Coventry City
Southampton
Newcastle

To name a few. Some of these clubs fell from a height well above where we have got to.

Makes me sick that our fans now think we are so elite and should just be a roaring success every single season. Even Man Utd have fallen off a cliff since Fergie retired.

We are having a poor season, by recent standards - a crisis, it ain’t.

Cavani is a top striker but at the age of 32 I think he would only be a short term solution and for the money they want I can't help but wonder if it would be better spent on a younger player

Im not as confident on a younger guy filling Kanes boots. Not for that money anyway.

The issue is, is a younger striker available and what are our "goals" for the rest of this season? You could argue that Cavani would give us a much better shout at challenging for top 4 this season, but he is not a long term solution. However, would that not suffice if he did hit the ground running and shot us into the CL?

Given how many games we play in England would that not be enough to cater for Cavani and Kane?

I would argue we need goals now, Cavani doesn't guarantee it, nobody does, but right now I feel a seasoned pro like Cavani might be a better option for the immediate and then we shop around in the summer or the summer afterwards for a longer term solution (young prospects).

I don't know...we are still seen by other teams as a top club in this league despite recent performances, and Kane/Cavani are both hard working enough + our other attacking options aren't elite enough - to the point where those two could easily play up top together, especially against lesser teams, IMO.

I think it would have to be a short term contract though based on his age and salary.

At the same time, it makes sense for the player to crave playing time, there is Copa America this year (not just Euros), probably the last shot for some of the older Uruguay boys to win something.

If it’s someone who can come in and contribute right away and help us try and close the gap on an equally stumbling Chelsea and Utd then I don’t care if he’s 36 or 37. A short term solution to stay relevant at the top table of European football is probably what we need right now more than a long term solution.

The concern with Cavani should not be the money or length of contract, because he is absolutely top class. The concern should solely be in relation to fitness/injuries.

In the last two seasons he’s had 7 different injuries, mainly muscular: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/edinson-cavani/verletzungen/spieler/48280

We could easily have the situation where we buy/loan him and then still have no striker for the remainder of the season!

Or he could stay fit and fire us to the Top 4.

Roll the dice...

Him or benteke though? He's the best we can get all things considered

Or would be rotated with Kane as you can see where Kane always playing when ‘fit’ leads us gah...
