And Eriksen set for Inter. Can't see Eriksen being used as a makeweight in any swap deal when he's free to negotiate with any club that best suits him

True but he has been set for Inter for a while it seems. PSG no doubt would offer him more and have better players although a shit league.

Yet we had some ITK from Yakster in the main thread saying we have enquired. Though Dragon1 also says probably not.

sorry to ask, not heard of Yakster before (I must have been under a rock!) is he/she from another site??

forget it, Lampard already said their looking at it
But, but...hang on, I thought Chelsea were giving the youngsters a go and giving opportunities to young English players. At least that's what my Chelsea supporting friend has been banging on about all season.

I have to say I can’t remember... I wouldn’t hold your breath though.

edit: @lukalennon not sure what the dislike is for, the holding breath comment is regarding us having a chance at signing Cavani in spite of Yakster’s info.

Forget backup, if we sign Cavani we can just play him up top alongside Kane when he's back and watch defenses fall down. Of course it won't happen though.

In all seriousness, with the injuries Kane has racked up it wouldn’t surprise me if he moves closer to a No.10 position sooner rather than later.

He’s the best passer in the team anyway.

He' been injured quite alot from start of the season circa 93 days this season and missing 19 games through injury so far .... when you see his injury history from last season quite alot too and some repetitive in terms of hamstring and muscles injuries

Hilarious. Abraham, Giroud, Batshuayi and Cavani.

I'd give my left nut for any one of those strikers at Spurs right now. Obviously Giroud is likely to leave but still.

Anyone saying Cavani is nearly 33 and not what we need should wake up and realise that he would be the perfect option for us at this point, even if he was here for only 4 months, he could be the difference to give us a shot at top 4.

He'd also settle in far quicker seeing as he has 3 ex PSG boys he played with in Lucas, Aurier and Lo Celso here as well.

Is he any use to us if he's always injured though?

Chelsea showing actual ambition and trying to make sure of top 4 in order to progress further.

Levy just trying to do everything on the cheap.

Even if we get a new striker at the end of the month, if we’d signed them straight away then how many more points would we have by 31st Jan as a result of actually having a striker?

We could have been top 4 potentially.

Short sighted

Even though we are desperate, it’s worth remembering that strikers tend to struggle coming to the PL so late in their careers. They simply can’t handle the speed and intensity of the league when their own physical attributes are waning.

Shevchenko was a great example of this and he was a far superior player. Zlatan did well but he was a bit of a freak physically.

Chelsea really throw a spanner into our too difficult to get done deals don't they.

I've seen a few murmours that there's better deals out there but they don't seem to be surfacing. Piatek on loan with an option seemed a goer but it's gone cold.

This is why any deal is risky. Bar a player who has Prem experience.
