If he wanted to go to China, or wherever, in the summer he'd earn an eye-watering amount of money for his 'retirement'.

But if he still has the hunger to win something of note (PL or CL) then he'd stay in Europe, so you never know.
Hasn't China brought in the wage cap? or will do?
They'd no doubt still beat a Levy wage though..

This makes far too much sense from a footballing perspective for it to make any sense at all from a Spurs business perspective. Those things appear to usually be in opposition these days for some reason.

Sadly so very true.

Reminds me of us being close to getting Morientes, we needed him, and we need a player like Cavani right now.... Obviously, we didn't get Morientes, and i doubt we'll be getting Cavani either.

This is exactly who a big club would sign in our position. He's still easily mobile enough and would be an excellent signing on an 18-month contract to allow us to rest Kane and develop Parrott at his own pace.

Wages are too high for us though, as per, so it won't happen. Shame.

Claims on ze Internet that he’ll leave in the summer only. Recieved a massive applause coming on for PSG last night. I call this BS

He'd be absolutely perfect. I wouldn't have a problem with him being one of the higher earners however from a Levy business point of view the dots don't join up.

Have always thought that Cavani is very overrated. Needs a lot of chances to score a reasonable number. Ligue 1 suits him, especially playing for PSG. I don't think that the Prem would.

I agree with you that playing for a dominant PSG definitely helps him scoring lots of goals. But he also scored 104 in 138 for Napoli and even 37 goals in 117 as a kid for Palermo was impressive. With the 198 goals for PSG and 50 for Uruguay thats a total of 389 goals (plus 63 assists). I don't think 'overrated' is the right word to describe Cavani

He scored quite a few playing off the left while Zlatan was the main striker, too. He could easily strong enough to do all of the hold-up play that Llorente was good for in a couple of games last year, while also possessing far greater skill, mobility and stamina. Would love it if he signed. Don't expect he will, sadly.

RB Salzburg's Hee-chan Hwang (the South Korean #9) might be worth a try - salzburg have 7 CFs on their books so might not miss him mid-season. He contributes to 19% of their goals. I think Wolves are after him this window and we might be wise to get in on the action.

Alternatively just loan Llorente back, write the season off, win the fa cup, and sign Mitrovic in the summer.

edit: ah, just realised they're probably losing Haaland.

Not probably: Haaland is already a Dortmund player since a couple of weeks ;-)

Hwang will not leave in january in all likelihood. There are lots of suitors for him (Wolves, Leicester, Everton, Brighton, Lyon,...) but Red Bull do not want to lose him in the same window as Haaland. Apparently Wolves and Everton would like to buy him now and loan him back to Salzburg. Salzburg want to extend his contract of course.
