Darren Lewis is nowhere as connected as a lot of journalists are, and he doesn't pretend to be either. He picks up on rumours and speculates more than anything else.
That's fair to say.

Do quite like him as a journalist though and on Talksport/podcasts.

Re KDB seems there is very little truth to the rumours

We do know that City have long standing interest in Eze mind so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are still considering him. I wouldn’t get too worried at this stage tho.

Choosing Diaby over De Bruyne seems mad to me. Even with the difference in ages.

If city do sign him I can’t wait to see the fun street footballer side of his game get drained out of him like Grealish
Agree completely. This is what I was referring to when I referenced him taking note of Grealish. Grealish looked x10 the player when at Villa when he was allowed to play with freedom and that unpredictability. Since moving to City he’s become robotic and barely has the chance to express himself fully

Maybe they are trying to distance themselves from being the league that players are only going to only to retire and for one last bumper payday?

I read something similar 2 years ago.
Phase one was signing big name players to raise the leagues profile
Phase two was to sign established but not necessarily top players to raise the overall standard of the league
Phase three, more established players with up and coming players.

Along the way continue to sign the odd top name to continue raising the brand name

Would be surprised mate as they are supposedly close to getting Nico Williams despite somehow still being over budget
I doubt they could buy two players at that level this summer.
That's the plan to sign Olmo and Williams this window. They always find a way.

With Barca it wouldn't be out of the question but it will be some lever to allow them to do it considering at the minute they can't register Vitor Roque or Gavi so far. They haven't been able to agree a new deal with Sergi Roberto and had to send back Cancelo and Felix. But it is Barca so let's see what unicorn financing package they are able to pluck out of nowhere

I don't think they have yet had the elastic in the knickers of the female player sponsored yet so theres still that windfall to use
