Whether we go for Eze, Neto or Doue we need to get our finger out, make decision and start bidding. We are not going to solve our jigsaw puzzle of a transfer window until we make the first move and see if we are successful or not. I know nobody else has done much but our plans are a bit more complicated than many others so the sooner we start the clearer the picture will be.

it feels like we are waiting to see if he would rather go to Arsenal or Chelsea than us before bidding, if we formally bid and he goes to Arsenal or Chelsea it's a really bad public look. But we can always claim we just looked and never tabled an offer if he goes elsewhere.

I would have thought that nothing much is going to happen til the Euros finish

That’s crazy! Who cares about the public look? If we want him bid for him. Don’t be waiting around to see what anyone else is going to do.

If arsenal really want him then hard to see him picking us. We have to be honest and say they are at least 2 seasons ahead of where we are in terms of squad building, ability to challenge on multiple fronts etc.
I know some will point to Dragusin and Bergvall but they are very early on in career and have time to make several moves. Eze is 25 and will likely be a starter at both us and them so it'll likely come down to the project which will be hard for us to win on.

I don’t know about Arsenal’s finances, but I could also see them outbidding us or offering more attractive payment terms to Palace. So I can see them stealing a march by agreeing terms with Palace sooner than us.

Absolutely no chance, untill I see concrete sales materialising for ESR and Viera and Trossard

They haven't paid for Rice yet which could be £60/70m over this year and next.

I suppose Eze slots into their cm3, playing ahead of Rice and Odegard.
No chance they play that - would be too attacking. I don't think he fits naturally into their squad, personally. Doesn't mean they won't go for him, but I'd be somewhat surprised

Don’t see why Arsenal would be in for him, but I kind of think the same for us. Arsenal need that Partey type player in MF and they have Trossard and Martinelli out wide and like us and Maddison he’s not going to Arsenal to be back up to Odegaard so I just don’t see it. They need a LB and a striker which doesn’t neccisarily mean they don’t want or won’t get Eze but they must have higher priorities.

Don’t disagree but he offers them something a bit different. They have a lot of clever players with intricate passing and movement but maybe they’re lacking someone to carry the ball.
My concern is Palace might be interested in Smith Rowe which would make a deal very doable.

Yeah, agree. And they might view it a good-value deal for an established Premier League England international. It could be that they genuinely lack the funds until they sell players, but I can see Eze's rumored price tag making it an appealing proposition for them.

I’ve always seen Eze as a luxury. If we can get a quality 1v1 winger, striker, central midfielder, left footed cebtre back, plus competition in both full back positions and STILL have 60m to spend on an AM to rotate with Maddison, then ok great!

There’s an argument you spend anything left on a young promising goalkeeper though…

We have so much to do with our squad over the next 2-3 windows. I’m not sure if Eze helps us or sets us back tbh. Feels like a deal we would hace done a few years ago.
