I think we end up with Neto.

Eze is my top choice, but if Neto's injuries wernt so concerning he'd be the first choice given his skill set.

I'd like Eze but at the same time wouldn't be overly concerned if we do miss out. I'd be very interested to see where that money may go instead. Could arguably end up with a bit more of a rounded transfer window as a result, but it really is impossible to tell at this stage.

I do like the idea of having someone of Eze's quality to provide an additional bit of a creative spark in the side though admittedly.

I imagine we would go after a CF if we fail to get Eze.

My sentiments are the same and I feel Doue would be the better long term prospect at this club if we are looking primarily at like for like.

What I would say though is that if Eze was Ange’s top choice then we should feel aggrieved we aren’t competing for his signature - certainly if Chelsea steal a march on us!

I always felt that upfront fee might have a noticeable effect with the rest of our business. Tbh I’m not overly convinced Arsenal or Chelsea would want to pay so much upfront ether. Wouldn’t be surprised if both clubs offer players in exchange. Could certainly see Arsenal offering ESR and 20/30 mil for example. Of course there’s always the chance that we decided to go all in and offer it if we sense hesitancy from the others. Unlikely but you never know. Although of course Eze might think he’d rather go to Arsenal then us regardless what we offer CP.

Ether way I do reckon it might allow us more leeway with other targets but obviously we would need to address the HG issue. If it pushed us to go all in for the likes of Neto, Doué and Gray I’d have no concerns about missing out on Eze. Big IF tho I imagine.

I’m sure we won’t bow out yet if we have already put effort into getting him, which seems like we have, but it could make things much more tricky. It seems Ange is also desperate for Neto so maybe if we can manage to sort that one out (tough with Mendes) then at least we can give him one of his two biggest wants. That’s better then nothing.

Yes I didn’t want my post to sound knee-jerky but it’s more that it’s of the utmost importance that Ange gets his main target(s) and right now it would appear a big fat no to Gallagher albeit it never seemed on and it remains to be seen if we will commit to at least triggering the release clause on Eze because frankly there’s no excuse not to IF that’s who Ange has in one of his primary targets.

I bet whoever doesn’t get Eze out of Chelsea and Arse will go all out for Neto and/or Doué. Such is our luck. I can certainly see both teams interested in both players. Plus there have been rumblings again PSG want Doué after they get Cherki which wouldn’t surprise me.

Yeah I mean, I'm not convinced that Eze equates to no CF, but it may free up funds for a position in need such as that if it was in question.

I agree. Although I personally can't preach the signing of Doue being better too loudly as I hadn't even heard of him until a few months back, but he certainly seems to tick a few boxes that need to be ticked, and certainly seems like he could potentially be a better fit.

Definitely though, and it's not like we've missed out yet, but from the noises of how we're now operating I'm sure we have acceptable plans for if we miss out. I think top choice or not, sometimes you have to accept that certain circumstances can make a transfer difficult, especially as we didn't grasp a CL place. Ange will know this that's for sure.

Yeah I forgot about the HG element actually. There's definitely a situation where if we don't get Eze, other business we do could leave us feeling even happier regardless. When you look at how much our front three let us down at times last season, Neto and Doue would be fantastic pieces of business.

You'd hope Eze has seen Chelsea going for Olise first (and every other fucker) as proof that he's a bit of a second choice and we have him as one of our priorities
