Strange feeling. There is still a twist in this story.
I hope you’re right, I still really want him and feel that he would give everyone a lift going forward.

He can play multiple positions and carries a great goal threat.

Watching him laugh and joke with Sonny and Maddison after our game with them last season really made me think this was happening.

So we signing Eze or what

Obvs not but suppose it looks like we are done then, if so good window in terms of cleaning out the squad and improving depth but would’ve liked that Eze type transformative attacking signing along with a LB and possibly CM (but can see why we might hold off on those 2 until Jan at least if the right opportunity doesn’t come up)

Never thought we’d get Eze tbh but Neto I could see happening, meh it is what it is ey

Yeah I think we are done for the window and Im a bit disappointed overall. Hopefully it will be one of those windows where we look back and in hindsight its fantastic as the young players have become top class and Solanke has improved us. Currently I feel like we havent improved the starting 11 enough and im concerned about that but it is what it is.

Obviously would have loved Eze but if our business is genuinely done here the lack of cover at left back will be a bigger issue this season than any attacking signing imo.

Udogie is now our most important player alongside VDV, maybe more so. Can spence and/or Gray play there? Spence doesn't look like a left sided player to me...

I'm choosing to think everything is great now. Then if results aren't good this season, I'll criticise the transfer dealings in 6 months.

Denial and not taking a stance is the best.

Yeah im telling myself that all the new players will become world class for us and this will eventually prove to be one of our best ever windows. I'll join you on this one pal 👍

I don’t see how only signing one player over 20 can been seen as anything other than a failure.

We failed to obtain our two key targets, and we haven’t addressed the problem areas in our squad like the left side of defence or genuine quality on the wings.

Whatever the plan was at the start of the window, it’s not worked.

I am not sure that arbitrary picking of an age makes a good point

Totally agree.

We still have significant weaknesses and appear to have settled for a season of allowing younger players to grow.

Whilst I Like that we are putting trust in the younger players, we are couple of injuries in specific positions away from having a tough season.

Also, we are going to have to expect some bad defeats, all part of the process I suppose but is it too much to as for this club to push the boat out a little and get one genuine player that makes a difference right now?

We run the risk of players like Romero wanting to leave in a years time as he doesn't see an ambitious club.

We always look to the future and don't focus enough on the now.

Isn't that what we basically did between the years of 2019-2023, and it set us back massively?

I could have simply said “senior players.” But the truth is the only one with more than a season of first team games is Solanke. The other signings are all kids who we will all have to be patient with.
