Ooof, you cut me deep. I still love Madders and think we need to consider that he had the worst injury of his career this season. 3 months out was rough and he was just never quite able to get back to his best as the league waits for no man.

He'll be back to it at the start of next season but equally I'd be delighted for us to bring in a Gibbs-White or Eze to compete/cover
Should just clarify that I meant not sure about Maddison being better than Eze, not that I'm unsure about Maddison in general. Edited the post now.

I do wonder if we aren't getting strongly linked/in for him cause we expect someone like City to dip in.

We don't get involved in bidding wars and already know it'll be 60m plus so that is probably that for us.

We'd need a clear run at him which we won't get.

There’s a release clause so I don’t think it’ll be a bidding war, though he’d likely get higher wages at City. If they’re in for him he’ll go there.

Isn’t the release clause just for Olise and not for Eze? I mean it wouldn’t surprise me if they both had one but I thought the last report re them suggested it was just one of them that had a clause. I could be wrong tho.

I thought I saw somewhere that Eze also has a release clause with a few complex parts to it.

He get more playing time with us you'd think, and the Ange factor.
With Bernardo likely off, KDB’s age and injury issues, Grealish supposedly out of favour and the amount of games they will have next season im sure he would get a lot of game time if he went there.

I read that QPR have a sell on clause of circa 20%. So the complications of a release clause is said to be that Palace will demand the amount of money for the clause but the buying club will have to ensure QPR get their fee too.

Haven't they signed Savio who is a right winger if i'm not mistaken? Also Echeverri? Bobb is an option for them too. I also can't see where Grealish ends up. Given he's HG I can't see City wanting to loan him as that's the only way I can see him leaving, maybe back to Villa. He will probably just stick around the squad.

KDB and Foden are still shoe ins to start in the 8 roles for them surely. If Walker's not running his contract down I think City will need a right back and an upgrade on Kovacic and Nunes, not sure Eze is that player. It will be interesting to see what they do though as I think Pep will be spooked with how close Arsenal came. I think they'll be relentless next season.

I’m sure I heard that City were in talks with Guimares, which would surely be an upgrade on those two.

Not to do with his footballing ability, but reading this just makes me think this guy would have a superb attitude around the squad.

Possible Eze replacement?

Glanser played a 343 last season so would fot that same left sided 10 role.

Or it’s just squad depth and a longer term replacement.
