I hope I'm wrong. Personally think we're still at least 3 players short.
Bloody hell, how many were you expecting in this window?
That's not even considering the good work we've done getting loads of players off the books.
Nor the itk we've had saying that we're still expecting to do more business.

It's hardly been a terrible window as it stands, maybe could be better but we all know it's not a perfect world and we can't all get what we want.

A couple of days being quiet after a loss and the doubters creep back out.

If we've learned one thing from the past week, it's surely to hold fire on the negativity until the window has actually closed.
One slightly negative post and all the rest quickly pile on, probably the same people who were made to look a bit premature last week.

I’m not interested in top 4 and never have been. That isn’t achievement to me.
That's your problem then. Maybe go support City or something otherwise you won't ever be happy. Spurs last won a league in 1961 😂 I think you could be waiting a while to be happy.

I didn't and have never said it would be a terrible window if we stopped now.

At the same time we continue to have people at all levels of the club talking about trophies or top 4 or whatever achievement they are expecting.

And I don't think they've delivered the squad to do that so far.

So that's my issue. The club saying they want one thing and then looking at where we are against those we are supposedly seeking to finish above.

There isn't much noise really, which is in keeping with how the new regime seems to operate so fair enough.

Just feels like we've spent our cash.

I wonder if we'll pick up a defender on the cheap to cover left back but I'm not sure we'll spend much more on a midfielder now.

Agree, I think we still need a LB, CM and top class RW, possibly also a better back-up GK and 4th CB depending on current youth development.

Eze is a pipe dream but he’s the level of quality attacking signing we still need to make to go to next level.

All depends on your expectations.

I’d say at the beginning of the window we needed a top class Central Midfielder(number 6, dm, pivot), a top class winger and an attacking midfielder to get anywhere close to City and Arsenal. I don’t think we have those.

I think Gray and Bergvall will be excellent buys and certainly prefer them over players who have gone.
Don't think Ange has been looking for 6 tbh, none of our midfield links have been for one. All midfield links are for energetic 8s.

Angle likes Johnson, loves Son and has added Werner and Odobert.

So true and also the young signings are great n all but if Ange and the club want to win now then we’d have signed more than just one ready to go player in Solanke.

And we’re already ahead of schedule, by your own admission. Challenging for top 4 is exactly where we should be at this point in a years-long rebuilding process.
As I said Top 4 doesn’t interest me. Whether it’s a target or a dream for some is another matter.

Liverpool signed no-one.
Chelsea a literal mad-hosue.
Arsenal signed a centre back.
Villa some decent business, but would argue a mixed bag.
United, not convinced yet on their business, but time will tell.

Not sure any best our business here.

Yes, but I don’t think many of those will really elevate us. We are where we are and we have to accept that as I said.

Been speaking to a few people who feel Odobert can be really good, but is still raw. So hopefully we’ve done good business there. I’m all for giving the younger players a go. I don’t understand the siege/bullying mentality on here sometimes. It’s why such good posters have left.

Would love us to sign a left back cover, Dorgu sounds great.

CM I could see given the outgoings. But out wide just surely isn't going to happen? We've signed two.
I agree it won't happen.

But we saw three of our wide players being poor on Monday, and those three were also limited at the end of last season.

Odobert gives us an option but that still relies on Son, Timo or Johnson playing. Not sure that's enough if we want to meaningfully challenge for anything.

We'll see. I think people are writing off Son and Johnson too quickly, and Werner, for all his faults, can be incredibly effective as we saw last season.

We've drawn one game, feel like a lot of people are hugely over-reacting.

I hope I’m wrong, but Son does look like he’s fading. Love him so hope he comes back strong. I don’t think either Werner or Johnson will be quite good enough. Let’s see. Fingers crossed

Liverpool and Arsenal were on a different planet to us last season. They didn't need to significantly improve to beat us (different argument for them challenging City but we aren't in that conversation).

Villa also finished above us and considering the relative spending power of the clubs I'm disappointed we haven't done a lot more than them.

Agree Chelsea are a basket case and they aren't who I'm comparing against.

United are the concern for me. Think they've done much more to improve than us over the window, although they had a lot of ground to make up.

As I've said elsewhere I don't think our business is enough for us to be confident of top 4 or a trophy...and that's what the club (not the fans) keep saying is the target.
