You are assuming that the release clause is effective right up to the end of the window.

The lawyer who drafted the clause would presumably not have been so negligent as to allow that to happen.
Maybe, maybe not - release clause deals have certainly happened at the end of windows before. The club will know, as Eze’s agents seem to practically live at our training ground.

My point is simply: Palace are playing hardball because they think it will make us walk away, and so far they have been proven right. If that were to change, they’d probably be better off by adjusting their strategy. Would getting a big fee for Richarlison be enough to make Levy go all in on this? IMO still probably no.

When you say strongest pressing do you mean press frequency or press effectiveness though? Big difference between a proper coached and structured press to just barking at players to chase down more. I felt last season at times it was lacking and we allowed opponents to counter attack us too easily. However, better ball retention in theory means you have to do less pressing, so if tiredness was the cause over organisation then that is easier to address.
First 3rd of the season we were excellent, then it tailed off dramatically. Might be equally due to personnel, drops in form, etc but I am eagerly looking to how we set up and press once the season begins.

Lawyers draft what the clients agree pal; you can advise them that blue is blue, but if they want to say red is blue then red is blue. You just filenote the shit out of it.

Stoof told client blue is blue. Client said he didn't care, and that red was in fact blue. Stoof suggested that red being blue wasn't necessarily the case in the market and that most deals end up with blue being blue. Client re-confirmed that red was blue and instructed Stoof to agree the documents on the basis red was blue.

Stick your negligence up your arse etc., you'll never sing that.

Ouch - a lawyer becoming defensive - I've never seen that before!

Seems like way too much money for Alvarez tbh. It's not that I don't think he's good, but where are Atletico finding that sort of money? Have they sold someone recently?

Just looking and they've already spent 66m Euros on Sorloth and Le Normand.

If Parrish won't budge on the price and we sell Richy to the Saudis then get Solanke and Neto and wait to the last days of the window activate the release clause and leave them in the shit.

AM signing Alvarez and Gallagher for well over 100 million.

Remember them pleading poverty over PEH lol
They never valued him at the money. He was a cheap option to tide them over. To be fair no one valued him at that money or he'd have gone last year. Hes bang average and that's how they valued him.

75m I can see as fair, in some ways, but that 20m add-ons is crazy
I doubt City can pay a substantial up front fee having to follow fair play rules. They are probably selling Alvarez to balance the books and give them room for a lesser money deal for another player.
