I don’t see us paying much north of sixty mill for one single player. We just don’t seem comfortable at the higher end of the market.

Our record signing is still Ndombele, who is the 50th highest transfer fee in Premier League history. Arsenal, Man C, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle have all spent higher single fees.

The business we have done recently suggests we are still looking for value. Even Johnson, Maddison and Richarlison were bought from clubs in precarious or potentially precarious financial situations. Bissouma was a contract situation. Vicario and van de Ven were widely seen as cheaper second options. Kulusevski and Bentancur were also bought for relatively modest fees.

I expect us to continue with this strategy this summer. And I’m not convinced Olise or Eze fit into that unless Palace have financial problems or they have reasonable release clauses.

Or perhaps were willing to sell them some of our surplus players in a separate deal - bit like KWP and Hoijberg

If you say to me that I can choose any player we’re linked to be signed, he would Probably be my pick. He changes our attack instantly, and can be played centrally or in the wing. Amazing football player.

I’d actually like to see him start for England on the left. I know it’s off topic but I’d have Eze, Foden and Saka behind Kane with Palmer being able to come in as the very next option.

I just think Eze gives us something completely different to anything else we have.

He has to be on the plane, but Southgate will likely take Rashford over him despite Rashford being abysmal.

To continue the off topic conversation but have you got Bellingham in midfield with Rice?

If it was a straight choice between eze or olise?

I'm taking olise

Yep, Olise is younger, better, and more in the position we need as a right winger.

Only thing is typically Ange wants a really wide forward, and Olise is more the type to come inside, play incisive passes, shoot, etc. I'd love to take Olise and Eze but it would probably mean we have to change how we play so that Porro and Udogie would be more overlapping fullbacks than inverted.

Eze is a great player but given Kane likes to drop deep it feels congested to me. I'd prefer someone who will run in behind or occupy the space out wide. I'd start Gordon on the left.

It's a similar story for us. Again he's a top player but i'm not sure where he fits in this Ange team. For me he's a number 10. Ange would have to change tactics but maybe he's the sort of player you change it up to accommodate.
