Yeah I think he is a good player but I don't think he is a 'special, special' player which is what the guy I was responding to said.

You're 100% bang on mate signing both would be amazing but I hope people aren't banking on us doing it. Each one would be c50-60m. We have only signed 4 players over 50m and havnt signed 2 in same window at that level. I just hope people aren't getting too carried away thinking we will as IF it doesn't happen some will likely be the ones having meltdowns when window is shut.
If we signed one of them that would be a good result along with Gray and see what other bits we can do. Course I hope I'm wrong and that we will sign both it would be amazing but it's so difficult to see that actually happening based on history.

I think given our strong PSR situation , given the amount of player sales we will have, given the stadium has been up and fully running for a few years now, given we want and need to back Ange in this project and given aside from an 18yr old Gray and a youngster from Korea arriving in January we’ve not signing anyone else, if we only signing one of them it would be disappointing but if we still sign two top attackers say Neto & Chiesa then absolutely no problem, if Neto or Eze is our only 1st team ready attacking signing then that would be hugely underwhelming.

Front 3 of Johnson, Neto, Son and remove Kulu and then you have ‘some team’ rather than playing Kulu out of position. Or a fit Richy down the middle with Son and Neto flanking him with the rest of that team would also be ‘some team’.

Well his end product is up there with Saka's, arguably better, and all in a weaker team...thats extrememly impressive.

And to me, with the eye test, he looks a special player.

Honestly, it may well just be wishful thinking, but I think he could be genuinely good up front if the right players are around him.

A creative, hard working physical presence who chips in with 12+ goals could absolutely be what we need IF we have good players, scoring goals either side

I never understood this standpoint. If we have such good wingers, you want a real no 9 that chips in the goals right? I know, a kane is hard to find, but a real 9 is something that helps so much in a game .

Don’t normally pay much attention to surface level stats but those have probably convinced me on him. More than just a flashy match of the day player.

You may have to get used to the idea that we aren't selling Deki and may actually play him through the middle.
I know you hate it but it's got to be said, he's looked pretty impressive there and there's no reason to believe he's not suited to the role.

He himself has said in the past that he prefers to play in the 10 role, so 10, false 9, even a proper 9, I think he's got the tools to do the job well enough.

I'd much rather see him there than Sonny, who should only ever play off the left.

Not the thread for it and you’ll see from my comments in the deki thread that I don’t ‘hate it’ but I feel that the front 3 I mentioned would be more effective than having Deki up front instead of son based on if we sign Eze & Neto. It’s all a puzzle.

But it’s all heresay atm given we haven’t signed either Eze or Neto.

Let’s see what happens and trust Ange to work it out based on his plan.

Also we will hopefully have tons of games this season so different players and combinations will be used all the time, that being said I’d like us to have a clear 1st choice front 3 for when we need them in the biggest games and for me that shouldn’t include Deki.

Back to this thread, if we sign Eze it would be good to have a striker who can run in behind onto his through balls…

eze deal from what i know only gets done if we activate that release clause . Parish and co won’t negotiate they have no reason to they don’t wanna lose him. We have looked into a higher fee with structured payments but they want that ballon payment not 12 mill a year . They don’t typically back down and I don’t see why they should !

yeah that doesn't seem to likely, don't see us or a majority of teams in the world minus madrid and city doing the buyout and paying lik 50-60 mil up front, that's insane.

Apparently he's a master at doing such a deal, despite little evidence. There,are financial services available to ensure we dont have to pay 60 to acquire an asset in one up front lump. If he can find a way, i'll be pushing in the queue to kiss his ass.

We've got to spend 100m plus on two offensive players asap otherwise this,season will surely be the same as last
