Saw a link yesterday mentioning Clarke on loan to them. Think it was the first one in the media. But apparently he wants a loan up north and we want a London one so that could be a spanner in the works if we want to send Clarke to qpr as part of any deal for Eze.
Loan up north! Will he be the next Barmby!

There aren’t many players who’ve left us that have annoyed me as much as Nicky barmby. Had he stayed he really could of been part of something yet he left and went on to have a mediocre career.

Annoyed me as well, but his trophy haul is more impressive than Spurs' since 1990, and you have to question whether he'd really make any change from the one league cup he'd won here.

Why would a lad from Leeds sign for a London club and only want a loan up norf?
Shirley he would be better integrating himself with life down souf ready for when he comes back to us. 🤔

That sounds sensible, but remember he's still a kid and you have to be sensitive to him maybe wanting to be near family if he's not playing for Spurs

But what if we didn’t loan him out? He’s got to do it sometime. Just thought it’s putting off the problem. Might as well get that done and over with at the same time as getting used to training with our team.

Did you forget about Stephen "I wanna win some trophies" Carr?

He's 19, not a kid any more. Loads of 18 year olds go off to university, military or all sorts of things in different parts of the country, why should Clarke be treated differently because he's a footballer?

Good for them but it doesn't really have any relevance to him as a unique human being, does it?

I'll caveat what I'm about to say with that I went abroad to study at 18 and have no real concept of homesickness despite having a very nice and pleasant childhood, after all life is about experience.

But he really needs to suck it up. If he didn't want to move south in the first place, he should've told Spurs when they made a move for him. And geographically nothing in England is so far away that homesickness should be a legitimate thing, what is he a four hour drive from home, max? That's nothing.

I would get him and bowen as it offers two homegrown slots, both wont cost an arm and a leg and they will have resale value if they flop,

It does seem like Eze is the next player in line to graduate from the Championship, with Maddison and Grealish before him. Would be a shrewd signing. Now or never.

You have quite a black or white way of looking at it. I've known people from all walks of life suffer from homesickness, had student's defer for a year and some are the one's you would least expect it from.

Your outlook and upbringing had you set to take it all in your stride, but there are plenty who for one reason or another aren't prepared (in a literal sense) to take those steps for another couple of years. Footballer, academic or soldier there are those who can at 18 and those that can't.

That the thing Tottenham will find an excuse not to spend the money. As far as we're concerned we've already got Clarke

Brentford v QPR on Sky at lunchtime today. Chance maybe to grab a squizz at Eze for those interested.
