Do we miss Davids?

Last season he did not play much before Christmas, and we did not finally hit form until after he left and the bad atmosphere caused by his sulking dissipated. He spent most of the previous season chasing shadows and passing to the opposition.

King is the player whom we are missing.

Sorry Eddie but that is utter nonsense.

Davids was the most important player from that season. Carrick may well have got all of the plaudits but it was the presence of Davids that made us believe we were winners.

The midfield from that season

Jenas Tainio Carrick Davids

had balance, athleticism, grit and determination. When it was tough we out fought teams, when it was pretty we outplayed teams.

Let us not forget that this was the only spurs team to COMPLETELY outplay Arsenal TWICE for a very long time. During the Highbury game we were almost as dominant as they were at our place this season.

Since Davids has left we have been soft centred.

I have said it before and I'll say it again. We need a player like Davids to give us the agression and spirit in our squad that we currently lack.

I agree with that but by no means do we need him. There are better players around who just dont want to come to spurs or jol likes to by crap.

Yes I didn't mean we need Davids, but someone with a similar character.

Maybe we already have in Boateng?

He appears to still lack match fitness which is unusual for a player who has been with the club for so long.

When against Famagusta though, he did show glimpses of the attitude that he is known for and a willingness to tackle hard.
