Or that we are only willing to put that amount to the RWF while we are still trying to secure another position too.
I think if the terms were right we would have spent the money on Eze instead of Solanke and also tried to get Neto. We probably would have enough to get a cheaper forward like a David instead. Although I think 3 is too many to register anyway. So Palace wouldn't sell Eze unless all paid up after selling Gueye and we moved to Solanke for similar money but better terms. Leaving the smaller budget for either attacking midfielder or right attacker instead. I would guess we still have enough for one big money and smaller one. Seeing as we've been said to be after 3 for some time now. Although it's possible we always considered 2 of the 3 attackers and to get a defender instead.

I think this sort of flexibility/pragmatism is actually more important than finding a specialist RW. To have a strong alternative to Johnson for the now, and to give us different attacking options for the future.

We can all create a dream transfer window XI etc. but I think the reality is that Ange will need some adaptability over the season.

Outside of technical ability, do you think Doue has the pressing/tracking side of the game that Ange would look for?
If we're happy with non-specialists at RW, then I think Johnson, Spence and Porro already cover that, don't they? I guess we've lost Royal, but we've got Gray.

Just because we weren't willing to pay £51m for Neto, doesn't mean our budget is less than that. It just means that we didn't consider Neto to be worth £51m, probably because of the reliability risk with his fitness.

The Doué transfer depends on Coman.

Coman is the first candidate for change in the attack.

This means FC Bayern will earn 60 million euros and could - theoretically - become active on the transfer market. For example with Désiré Doué, the 19-year-old offensive talent from Stade Rennes, who should cost almost exactly that amount.

But it's not that simple. After all, with Doué at the latest, the Munich team would have an oversupply on the offensive, and dissatisfaction would be guaranteed. So, according to the internal decision, an offensive player also has to leave the club. The favorite for this is Kingsley Coman, with the club since 2015, the winning goalscorer in the Champions League final in 2020, but also frequently injured. With Coman, a loan with the option or obligation to buy is conceivable; FCB would at least save their salary initially.

If anyone buys Coman for 60 mil they are actually mad. Even PSG or Chelsea can’t be that dumb.

Oh I'm sure Chelsea could be!

I can see a window whereby Doue actually stays put to be honest but no way we are doing a deal as much as alot of us are willing.

I agree with many on here that we need to sign a new starting option at right wing, as think that’s our weak spot. That is not Doue’s best position from my understanding, so with the emergence of Bergvall as a potential challenger for Madders at no 10, I don’t think Doue is a priority signing for us at the moment (and it sounds like we are not his priority in any case).

Other than Bakayoko are there any other options people think we should be looking at (so I can waste some more time checking out YouTube highlights?) How about Antonio Nusa? I know there was an issue with his medical with Brentford back in Jan but was that issue so serious as to rule out any move for him in future? Guess it was never confirmed what that issue was, but he looks an exciting player if not a ready made starting option. Just not sure who our Neto alternative might be at this point but I’d like to get excited about one!

Yeah, it seems like we are still optimistically hoping CP change their stance on Eze. I did say from the get go Doué to BM didn’t really make sense given their current options. I mean it might still happen of course but they have a lot of very highly paid attackers that don’t want to leave, he was never their top choice and they also clearly want Wirtz next summer who they will actually have a good chance of getting imo.

As for us, i actually have no clue who we go for if Eze falls through. I will stand by my statement that Doué should be our top target at this stage but i do agree the book is probably shut on him. Ether way, Doué would be wise to stay at Rennes rather then go to PSG or BM.

Getting him would also prepare us for the end of Son. We could play him on the right now and then when Son goes and ( hopefully ) the same for Werner, he could then move to the left ( and we hopefully get another RW.

I guess the debate is around whether with Yang and Moore we need another prospect or whether we should be looking for players to come in and make a more immediate impact

The best 1v1 winger IMO is Mitoma. I know he’s left wing predominantly but I reckon he would be effective on the right too. I’m amazed his name has not come up at all this summer for any club
