That's if we're actually targeting Doue. Seems to me he is a back up option to Eze.
Agree. I'd actually fancy our chances against PSG but seems we don't value him as much as PSG do and, like you say, it seems he is a back up to Eze anyway. Just have to hope that City don't swoop in for Eza after Doué goes to PSG.

This is the challenge of juggling multiple options. I wonder who the next option would be, MGW I guess is next but wonder if we prioritise another prospect or someone not mentioned.

Baena would be my guess, he’d probably cost half the price of MGW and we don’t need HG so no need to pay the premium.

So Bayern can’t afford more players without sales and even if they could they only want one of Simons or Doué with Xavi being first choice and favouring the move but have now decided to bid again for Doué. PSG’s last offer never got turned down but they are now also going to bid again because why not….

What’s for sure these jurnos are milking this one like crazy. Can’t wait for the flurry of BM media posts adding more “context”.

Bayern's dick waving is pretty tedious as is like you say the journo's who lap it all up especially Plettenberg.

There really does seem to be no encouraging noises from us regarding Doue - that doesn't mean we aren't interested behind the scenes but in my mind i've written this transfer off.

Yeah agree. I think it’s pretty much dead for us unfortunately. We haven’t heard anything positive about our interest in him for ages and certainly seems like we aren’t even considering a bid any longer.

I just find the whole circus around this somewhat amusing tho. I can’t help but feel this has turned into a bit of a dick waving competition between BM and PSG with Simons also being wrapped up in it. All whilst Rennes sit there waiting for someone to reach their valuation which they will eventually.

I wonder if it was ever an option sadly. I could never see Levy spending a large amount on another young player after Gray.
Just my opinion though.
I reckon it was, supposedly we were following him for a long time, I just think we thought the value would be more around the €40 mil mark so when it started going up to €50 mil plus we stepped back. Also maybe he got his head turned by BM and we thought we’d loose out regardless. The fact he came to the training ground and Ange supposedly talked to means we must have liked him a fair amount.

Despite this looking like Bayern is close to a deal, I hold out hope as after a deal was agreed upon for Gray with Brentford, Spurs came in with an offer. So, let's see if there's a last-minute offer. That said, do we have any solid ITK to suggest we still have serious interest?

This is just pure speculation but it seems like he hasn't decided where he wants to go yet (as per Fabrizio) so maybe we're waiting for him to give us the green light to make a bid. Saves us from all the negative press of being 'rejected'
