Far too much noise about him going there. I suspect we’ve moved on, I just hope we get a decent option in there for the wings. I’m not convinced we will.
I think for now we need to take every piece of news about Doué to BM that originates from Germany with a large pinch of salt. BM are very good at utilising local press to get their agenda across. That said, if BM really do want Doué over the likes of Xavi (which i'm not entirely convinced by) then the chances of him going there are pretty high I would think. At least it will probably come to a head ether way this week.

We avoid bidding wars. We have clearly done a lot of work on the players side...as we have with Eze & Neto by the way (by reading things on here & Eze's family having a box for matches, etc) and when other clubs interested reach an agreement on fee, that's when we decide whether we will pay that fee or not. I don't think it's any different with Doue but I do think if the fee is equal to what Eze's cost will be, we will pursue the PL proven, English international that would be an instant difference maker for us.

Looks like Bayern want Doue and one of Simons or Olmo.

Bayern already have Musiala for CAM. If they sign Simons or Olmo, Doue is going to be 2nd choice at best but very likely 3rd choice. Plus they also still have Olise, Sane, Muller, Gnabry and Zaragoza, even if Coman goes. Plus Tel gets used wide or CAM at times.

Is Musiala not a wide forward?

No mate, he’s more of a CAM who can play wider if needed. Plays inside left sometimes but a lot of the time he’s central.

If Bayern got Simons or Olmo, Doue would be competing with them plus Musiala to play CAM or LW, before even mentioning Zaragoza, Gnabry, Tel etc.

One of the best offensive players in the Norwegian Eliteserien, Albert Grønbæk from Bodø/Glimt, has been sold to Rennes...

A record deal in Norway.

Looks like Rennes are preparing for the Doue-exit.

This has gone so dead I’m scared the Hudson odoi links are going to resurface!
Just dreading the moment the Morgan Gibbs White thread starts getting bumped, which would feel like a sign that we've moved on to Plan D.

Bayern's sports director Christoph on the situation with the record champions. Bayern's transfers and Xavi.

FC Bayern has already spent around 130 million euros, and more could be added. Sports director Christoph Freund on the situation in Munich.

In an unbuttoned, light blue striped shirt, Christoph Freund entered the completely overheated FC Bayern media room on Säbener Strasse, together with press spokesman Dieter Nickles and Hiroki Ito. The 25-year-old Japanese is one of three expensive new additions to the German record champions and introduced himself for the first time tuesday morning.

Freund, who praised Ito as a “very strong player” and a “universal defensive player,” also spoke about the transfer phase at this press conference.

"Basically, we are very satisfied that we have already been able to make a few transfers. We are very well positioned in terms of the squad. We want to increase the competitive situation a little, that was our goal. These transfers that we have been able to make so far were absolutely dream transfers. "It's still pretty quiet on the transfer market, as you can see internationally. We'll see what the next few weeks bring. But it was very important for us that we were able to bag a lot early on."

On PSG's Xavi: "Xavi Simons... very good player!" (laughs) "He played a very good European Championship, also played a great Bundesliga season with Leipzig, he's developed really well in the last few years, made really good steps again and again... Yes... I think he's one at the highest level. "He's going to have a really good career. He's got everything, including his mentality and his character. Otherwise, there's not much to say about it."
