Everton's hopes of Tottenham waiving a £10million fee for Dele Alli have receded after they blamed them for over-spending that has resulted in the Toffees being docked 10 points.

its a bullshit story. Everton through lots of frivolous mitigation of which this is one of them. It was rightly thrown out.

The real story is whether Levy be willing to forgo the fee for Dele. And I think the answer is not straightforward.

Have they got any decent enough centre backs they can send our way in Jan to compensate?

Forgoing the fee is a favour to Dele that benefits a rival PL team by £10m. Realistically, Levy will already feel like he missed out on a circa £100m payday by not cashing in on Dele at his peak, so another £10m loss might be hard to take.

I'd be interested to know whether Everton received a loan fee from Besiktas, after not paying us a penny.

We're not a charity. But Everton can claim that with current deal we miss out on 10m, while if we renegotiate they can perhaps pay 5m.

So Everton's issue with us is that they are shit at negotiating?

Not the greatest defence.

Everton should be investing another £10 million in to getting Dele back to 100%, because he’d be their best player by a mile.

Three clubs in five years haven't been able to get him interested but you think an already broke club should spend another 10 million on him? Plus they're doing ok on the pitch now. It's not a risk they need to take

I could see Levy agreeing to kick the can down the road for a bit, I.e. Dele plays another 30 games, then the 10 mill comes in. That gives both Everton and Dele a chance to see if he can get back to somewhere near where he was without us forgoing the fee.

At this stage it is a bit of a lose lose lose situation, Everton can't afford the risk, Dele doesn't get back in to football and we lose 10 mil.

You would expect he would be on some decent wages at Everton so he is still chewing up revenue if they don't play him so there must be some pressure to have a look if he is training well.
