To think we were hoping for a season without too many injuries!

Two down and not even a minute played yet

It would help if we didn't flog the same 13 players to death every season. God forbid we actually have enough depth to manage our top players throughout the season.
For every ‘we flog the same players over and over’ argument there’s an equal and opposite ‘yes but more minutes could be given to Llorente, Nkoudou, Wanyama’ argument. These guys may not be top class, but if they each got ten starts a season, then the side is hardly going to fall apart, it’s not as if they’re awful Mir is it as if the other ten players on the pitch become this because the eleventh player isn’t as good.

Yes, we should have used more of the squad last year and in general. That's not an opposite argument. It's the same argument.

Ah my mistake, I though that when you said ‘God forbid we actually have enough depth to manage our top players throughout the season’ you were implying that we didn’t have enough depth to manage our top players throughout the season, hence why I felt my argument was opposite as I was stating that the deity was there, we chose not to use it.

No worries, blame my sarcasm :) I think Poch is great but I think the failure to use other options was partly to blame for the huge injury list and our form dropping off a cliff in the league.

I don't think GKN is a world beater but he legitimately looks like he could do a decent job.

I can relate, I live in a world where I use the same time of voice continuously so am often mistaken for being serious when I’m being sarcastic. Agreed on Poch.

We were so bad in the second half of the season I genuinely don't think we could have done that.

Wanyama could only start 3 games last season in the league cause of how broken he is and Llorente started 6 games, featured in 20 and scored 1 goal, he actually played in 4 more games this year than last in the league and scored a total of 2 goals in 2 seasons. He was completely useless outside of the champions league games. Nkoudou couldn't even get minutes at freaking Burnley or Monaco in a French relegation battle. Poch has done too much for the club to have to rely on those types of players. They are legitimately awful.

How is a player to show any kind of form if he plays so infrequently?

Poch watches them in practice every single day, if he trusted them at all he would have given them minutes as he's shown to do with youngsters such as Winks, Skipp, Dele, etc. If you show your worth in training Poch will let you play. Those guys must be terrible in training as they don't even look good against bad sides in the prem.

Poch on Dele after game: "of course we're worried. He's a young player and has had many, many hamstring injuries in the last couple of years."

Really hope this isn't a long term issue. Seems a it odd, as he doesn't rely on his pace, e.g. Michael Owen's hamstring woes, when he basically couldn't ever run at full speed after a hamstring injury very early in his career.
