My head would explode.
A couple of our former players have in the past, although not for us. Ossie wore the number 1 shirt in the 1982 world cup. Edgar Dvids wore 1 when manager at Barnet.

Can we change the thread title please?
Yeah, but there's a part of me that's gutted he's not training at our place.Good on them for doing that.
He's back training with Everton.
He's also got a good relationship with Dyche I imagine so he probably knows what is required to win a contractMakes more sense than with us I suppose, weren’t they willing to offer a contract.
I doubt Levy has let that happen. Now he’s out of contract any payments they would owe us for number of appearances would be void yeah?
So he could re-sign with Everton and not be denied appearances due to them worrying about having to give us more money, which is great for Dele.
Don't see how Levy could wring money out of that one when Dele is literally out of contract as we speak.I doubt Levy has let that happen.

Would imagine it will also involve our commitments to Everton re Richarlison and coming to a compromise there or conversely used in bartering for perhaps Onana or Branthwaite. It's a weird one this. How far are Spurs meant to go in being charitable towards Dele? Is the burden really on us to forego millions because if he re-signs for Everton they will have to pay up what they agreed in the transfer?
Everton bought him in good faith, on a hugely incentivised deal for a player that 3 seasons earlier was valued at over £100M. They should be taking care of him now as well as paying what they agreed.
