IMO Mourinho is all about right now, not building for the future. I'm sure if we had the slightest chance of Koulibaly (or Varane for that matter) he'd prioritize that over Upamecano.
If it was a choice, we have Sanchez as the long term

Yep. IMO Upemecano makes no sense for now as we have Sanchez and Foyth at the young spectrum with Toby and Jan at the older spectrum. We need someone who is instant to help the transition and be a success now. Koulibaly sits inbetween that and is very established.

Just don’t read it, not that hard.

I thought they didn't want spam etc and that's why tagged him and asked to close it.

I made an thread about varane and they deleted it and it was form an Spanish paper that is kinda reliable. And today itk said we have spoked with RM about varane.

Because of this I think they only want threads that are "true" and also threads they start

My fault but its hard to understand why some is OK while others are not

The Spanish publication you posted isn’t reliable.

The Sun have been quite reliable for us recently.

It's in the rules for starting threads that it's English sources only. You can start there.

This guy is the real deal. The problem is how much JM is going to need to fill all the needs at once ?

We know already that Upamecano has a £50m clause or something along those lines and that Cakir who we are being linked with will be allowed to go for £25m. We could get Ferguson as our backup RB if need be and although people hate the idea of it we could get Willian and Matic on free transfers.

If budgeting is an issue then that's 5 players in for £75m. Not bad business for players like Upamecano, Cakir, Ferguson, Matic and Willian (that's not my wishlist but it's something that gives us depth and enough money for a backup striker once we make certain sales)

Sell Dier, Foyth, Walker-Peters, Rose & Wanyama for let's say £60m, minus the £75m on Upamecano, Cakir, Ferguson, Willian and Matic and that's a slow improvement for a £15m outlay.

I don't want that kinda window but this post is more to show it's doable with a very modest budget if that's the worst case situation we are faced with. Vertonghen and Vorm leaving on free transfers will clearly free up wage issues as well.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Very creditable. I think the wage bill might be much increased but we have to increase the quality, so dramatic window ahead as Dier etc will not put us back in the top 4 !!

You ignore affiliated costs like agents, signing-on-fess and the like though.

Upamecano would be a great buy at only 50 m £, and would be my number one CB pick, if doable. The others I'm not so sure on.
