The more i see of this boy the more i think we should try and get him, he will be a big player very very soon. imo.

Bumping a thread to say this. You utter bastard, I thought for a brief fleeting moment we’d made a bid!

I’d genuinely be interested in buying him to replace Eriksen but I do fear that now even he will be out of our price range.

I meant if the fee is over 40m for Brooks i would still buy him , i would invest the dosh from Eriksen who imo is going.

Yeah I agree. I just get frustrated that we seem to be so reactive rather than pro active in the transfer market. We’ve been crying out for another creative player and alternative to Eriksen for so long, and it looks like we’ll wait until Eriksen leaves to address it.

Which will still leave us in the same position ( well worse in fact as it’s going to be downgraded from Eriksen).

The only recent times we’ve made a what I consider a pro active signing was Sanchez, when I presume behind the scenes the Toby situation was brewing.

Brooks clearly felt he was ready to play in the prem and felt he would get given plenty of time to play and improve at Bournemouth, he looks very good to me, no idea if we still have an interest, but we'd be mad not to.

I'd hope we would look at him as someone to bring in when Eriksen moves on, that would be evolving for sure.

The ground alone he covers makes him ideal.

How did he perform in our previous meeting last month?
He wasn't great from what I recall. He missed one or two easy chances though I think he put a few nice crosses in. That was a weird game where we seemed to accidentally score 5 while blindfolded with one hand behind our back, so I wouldn't take too much from it.

We were reportedly in for him when he left Sheff Utd for Bournemouth, but they offered him a direct route into the first team and he knew with us he would be a squad player, and he chose them.

Ah. Didn’t know that. Fair play to him.
