Chimbo. Definitely not Lennon.

Agreed. I have seen several comments from Sevilla players who have said that Ramos rates Lennon highly and that he was pinpointed as a threat leading up to our UEFA game last season. Palop said he was a perfect Ramos player and that Ramos will get the most out of him, so I think Lennon will be nailed on to keep his place.

I remember reading that too although there were four players pinpointed Lennon/Chimbo/Berbatov & Keane

Lennon and Alves down the right wing should be explosive, but sadly it's rarely the case this season that Lennon shows anything like the promise he did last couple of years - he's really hit a rut in his game and doesn't appear to have improved at all.

I think he needs a change of tack - as his crossing blows goats, move him into the central attacking role, similar to where we use Taarabt, and let him run not cross all the time, THEN we might start seeing a new tier to his game, but so far he's not looked even motivated or passionate about his poor shows this year.

Alves would be a superb addition to the squad, but i think it would be in for Chimbo more than a midfield position.

He's been unfit all season. He's been back for like 6 games? I've seen a gradual improvement in the last few games as he's still obviously blowing away the cobwebs.

I think with some decent guidance he can recapture his past form. Hopefully Ramos will have a more positive influence on the younger players potential than Jol/Hughton ever did.

Dont want Alves at all....

For one hes a bit of a prick and its funny how everyone is quick to forget that he's a little cheat as soon as hes linked with us.

Chimbonda is a better defender than Alves, that side to his game isnt really up to par at all plus hes quite lightweight. As someone said before, hes a good wingback...if he was used in a 3-5-2 that would suit him more. Reminds me of Roberto Carlos, great going forward and poses an attacking threat but lacks in the defensive department.

As for Poulsen..he could be that tough bastard that our midfield is crying out for but his disclipine is so poor. Anyone remember stamping on Jenas's head? Or his little rift with Berba? Would rather have Renato as a defensive midfielder unless Poulsen sorted out his attitude.

Alves has higher pretensions. Whether you think he's tosh or not, he's never going to settle for a club without CL football. And if you think del Nido is unpleasant now, wait till somebody tells him about this. Much higher chance for Kanoute to come back, and I think that's already unlikely enough.

Lennon's been awesome the past two games he's played. I think he's back to his best, if not close to it again.

Can't see Sevilla being to accomadating in selling us players after the way he has moved across and if Chelsea couldn't get Alves for 20 million can't see us getting him for 15!

Anyone else see in the paper at the weekend, chelsea offering SWP and huth for Lennon, I think that looks like a good deal at the moment.

I'm sure that will thrill Boro to bits.

We've got more chance of signing Pele. We are in the relegation zone and about as attractive as Pat Butchers Thong collection.

I get pissed off trying to watch Chimbonda defend, im sure Alves would be quite similar though im pretty certain he'd have a better final ball than Chimbo!

I have wanted a Brazilian at spurs for a long time though so bring it on!

agreed!!!

Alves is also pretty good in defense (no worse than Chimbonda that's for sure).

I really hope this is true. I'm also hoping he brings across Renato!!!
