I'm worried about the trajectory of Ange. It feels all too familiar.

I can accept an average season but we have to see progression somewhere. Where is the blueprint we saw early on? We seem to have gone backwards since last season.

Aside from a few flashes and isolated games, we've been on the slide since THAT Chelsea game.
The issue is with these tactics and these players the same things will play out match after match.

If I am an opposing coach it’s so so obvious and easy to set up defensively against us, also we have barely any attacking players who would worry opposing team defenders, going out here will be a really big blow for our season, like really big.

We could have sold most of the first team and we should still be beating Coventry, to be fair. Something else is awry.
It’s a sad indictment on us not even looking like testing their keeper.

We can’t go through the cycle of sacking managers though but Ange has to recognise with who’ve we got at his disposal that these tactics aren’t conducive to getting the most important aspect in games - the win!

If we get anything out of this game it will be a massive injustice. Obviously hope it happens anyway but Coventry have outplayed us everywhere.

Is there any manager on the planet that this club couldn't destroy? We're like the Ivan Drago of clubs when it comes to absolutely breaking previously supremely confident managers

Ange is toast if this goes south tonight. There is no way that the Coventry players are "on paper" better than ours. If they were, they'd all be playing in the premier league. Now on tonight's evidence, they are and deservedly so. So I have to put huge amount of blame on Ange. The Ange's style of football has long gone and looking at tonight's showing, we ain't scoring. It's a calamity out there

And the players will get away with it once again, not one of them out there tonight has played with any passion, no one shouting, no one digging their team mates out. From the manager, the bench, nobody.

All too safe, pass the responsibility on to someone else. It's festered for years and every manager thinks he can turn it around. Just what the fuck is wrong with our club...

I know this is going to sound mighty convenient but I wasn't entirely confident about this season before it started. We haven't been consistently good since those first 10 games last season, with the Chelsea game a clear turning point. 44 points from 30 league games since that, which is 9th or 10th-place form. I am depressingly cynical about Spurs at this point (and prepared for the inevitable negative reacts here) but I'm ready to just skip to the part where Ange gets sacked.

To be absolutely clear: I don't want him gone, I like him, but it just seems like the direction this is all heading at this point having seen this sort of thing enough times. So I'd rather just use the Click remote and fast forward past the month or two of speculation and increasing pressure on him and get it over with. Of course I'd love a reason to not be so miserably cynical about this...aaaaand Coventry have scored as I was typing this

So, yes, that is that

it was one player he should have subbed and everyone saw it, that was Werner.
Our problems are deeper than just Werner though.

We have been pretty terrible all over. Even Bentancur who I rate highly has had a shocker here

On the brighter side this makes Arsenals victory look turd as we are being schooled by a championship team.

What for ENIC’s 18th manager project? (Lost count) Season lost in the summer when ENIC done their wage cutting exercise, no ambition to go for top teir paying top tier wages, until those ****s are gone 24 years off revolving managers will continue, all these managers that win things everywhere they go then come to Tottenham and it stops, why?
This is what we are under Levy.

He doesn’t know what he’s doing.
You really reckon?

It would be a heck of a lot of heat on Ange if we did lose this, 1st round league cup exit 2 seasons in a row after our 3rd NLD home loss in a row is not something our fan base will be overly happy about.

We just look so so soft, so ‘Spursy’ if you like, pass pass pass but create absolutely nothing of note, no quality and no physical presence.

I don’t think Ange would be anywhere near the sack if he lost this tbh but it would be pretty hugely concerning tbh given it’s exactly the same match playing out week after week and Ange has said he won’t ever change.
nah he’s done if we lose this. He won’t be sacked for a few more months but the fanbase has been embarrassed numerous times in the last 12 months with precious little to crow about to offset those embarrassments. Further to that everyone can see what is wrong with the set-up and worst of all we are dull to watch.

It’s the beginning of the end.
