Probably because some fans where chanting "Brennan you're a c*** Brennan Brennan you're a c***" at HOME to Arsenal. Not to mention the many many random shouts of "c***" directed towards him, all very very audible on the live broadcast on Sky. Disgusting from our own "fans"
I agree, I wasn’t digging Brennan out at all I completely understand it’s just a sad state of affairs that a young player isn’t celebrating with fans after he’s just scored a late winner because of how he’s been harangued by his own fans

Forster - I don't think he could do anything for the goal. Did ok.

Gray - Comfortable on the ball but he is not a wing back in Anges system

Udogie - Looked leggy, added nothing going forward.

Radu - Meh. Was ok. Caught out a couple of times.

Davies - Showed he is not good enough bar an excellent clearance after Radu and Forster fucked up. Not bold enough with the ball.

Sarr - What does he do?

Bentancur - Meh. Thought he was quiet until setting up the winner.

Bergvall - Worked hard. Wanted to drive the game but let down by trying to keep the ball and others hiding.

Solanke - No service.

Werner - Put one decent ball in but for the rest of the game was pony. Adds nothing

Odobert - Dont see him driving at his defender which I thought was his thing.

Spence - Should have started, and showed Ange why he should have. Best player on the pitch. Wanted the ball, drove forward and was positive.

Kulu - Great cameo. Influences the game when he wants to. Needs to do it more consistently.

Johnson - Great run, great finish. Still lacks confidence. Better when playing on the shoulder of the defender.

Maddison - Added some energy and some pace into the pass.

Son - Had an understanding with Maddison without really doing anything.

Ange - Losing patience with him. He picked the wrong team and went too far in rotating the team. Needs to look at how to get this team to stop slowing things down, passing backwards and really transitioning quickly with the ball. It's all too fucking ponderous played in front of the team. When we play quick and insightful Spence scores, when we play quick and positively Johnson scores. Still no end product from the wingers - something is not working.

Honestly I think we finish 8th this season. Could even be lower.

Changing the manager changes nothing long term but I am very concerned about the performances and this is as boring as Conte’s second season.
I just simply don’t see who will score us goals moving forwards both because of the system and because of the players.

Solanke : early days and starved of service but so far hasn’t looked particularly good

Son : legs are going and not suited to wide left chalk on boots , only scores as a ST in this team, LW he’s not much of a threat at all

Maddison : hasn’t scored for ages

Johnson : has a goal in him but with this tactical set-up he’ll mostly be up against low blocks and ineffective

Werner : absolutely ZERO goal threat

Odobert : raw, now injured and not much of a goal threat at all

Richarlison : can score but always injured

Kulu : works hard, has been great this season and is somewhat of a creative and goal threat but doesn’t exactly regularly score

We might get the odd random goal from Porro or Romero and the very odd strike from range from Bissouma or Sarr etc but you get what I’m saying, we just don’t have much of an attacking threat at all, which is what we all said all summer long.

MAD the club didn’t properly address this.

Partly tactics, partly lack of quality attacking players but either way I’m really quite concerned moving forwards regardless of this result.

Just have to hope this win puts a rocket of momentum into the team and confidence can do funny things, if we follow this up with a loss to Brentford Ange will still be under big pressure.

I like Ange as a person a lot and I think he has something in him but he’s not got good attacking options and he’s not willing to tweak things tactically at all and those 2 things could be his downfall.

I hope to goodness he can do well with us but not going to lie I’m concerned.

Thought Brennan timed his run well, could easily have crept offside and perfect finish from a perfect pass, very pleased for him.

Also Djed, sometimes you just have to want it more, great determination.

Fiest pass he made granted, but he kicks better into the channels than vicario.

Slower as well, but more dominant..

As I said, very far from our on the pitch issues tonight
nearly gave away a goal when he ran out and took dragusin out, very lucky to get away with that, how can he possibly play again against better opposition when his weaknesses will be ever more shown

Sorry but I stopped reading at Forster “did ok” - he was an absolute disaster

It was risky for sure.... especially when we are stuttering at the moment... I agree.

But hey... we got a lucky win in the end. We can only hope that Ange and the players grow from it. A win is a win.
I really don't agree it was luck once we brought on our major players.

Flame me all you want, Spence wasn't really all that apart from that toe poke. His positioning and decision making, particularly any sort of defensive work, was comedic at times.
His incredible pace and decent running with the ball are very useful in this system tho.

For their goal Gray couldn’t sprint back in time, Spence might have been able to.

I feel like he helps offer us an attacking threat.
