Counter-argument - Gray is certainly the future - more so than Spence.

He is not ready to play CM at the required level, but he can still gain valuable experience and help the team while he develops playing the inverted RB role.

So, if we are playing the long game, and it appears that we are, its more important for the future that Gray develop this season.

I don't think it was either him or them. It was a quotas thing home grown, self trained nonsense and so we've got empty spots, Werner had absolutely no effect on it and Forster is a keeper.

The biggest steal in many a year, first half was just dull but second half they completely outfought us and played better/more effective football for most of it.

Atrocious display and a freak comeback doesn't paper over the cracks. Most of the midfield/attacking line and their work in the final third is closer to top of the Championship standard, rather than top of the Premier League.

why can't ppl understand - Solanke has just returned from an injury. What if he flogged him for both games & he got injured again. Same fans would complain coach was not helping the player. This was Ange managing Solanke. Bergvall tired quite a bit 2nd half - his quality was great but his legs were not the same

Thats fair about solanke, but imo taking our only striker off who is already being questioned as a bad buy, will do his confidence no good.

Other than the coming out a bit late, really didn't do too mich wrong, dropped a cross though, more to do with game practise than anything else.

Was dominant in set pieces, made a couple of decent saves.

Very far from the problems on the pitch.

It does not feel like the team understands how to play with Ange's tactics - particularly in terms of creating chances and goals.

Glad we won obviously but my biggest takeaway from that is that it reminds me of the last months under Conte, in that even though we won I couldn’t enjoy it because it was so poor and I had no confidence in us to turn it around.
