There is no excusing the pitch conditions & that is the only thing you can blame the US on. They are atrocious & only speaks to how thoroughly unprofessional MLS is as a league that they play on turf. Hope FIFA demands the turf is ripped out for clean natural grass surfaces for the WC. But the rest of the tournament organization? Nothing to do with the US & everything to do with conmebol. I do have to say, if Bielsa's goal is to get a pay day from the Qatari's & get on Infantino & Sepp's good sides, he achieved it. It is by no means a bad thing that the FBI went after FIFA.
I'm telling you. It's football in the Americas. You can always count on crazy shit. Especially in South America. This isn't even the most violent thing we've seen out of that continents football.

From my understanding FIFA has very solid plans for pitches inside stadiums. They'll be building 6 to 12 inch deep patches of soil and will use high powered sun lamps for weeks and months to let it bed in. CONMEBOL simply wasn't willing to put that level of investment in.

He’s on the upswing for sure. Playing in Ligue 1 next year after moving from Watford. Still just 22. Scored an absolutely ice cold penalty to win the quarter final in the shootout as well.
